Chapter 88

Breeze sat down and watched the footage that she’d secretly recorded during the past few days. She’d decided that she was going to ask Primo about the Federal investigation that he was the target of, but if he didn’t say what she needed to hear she needed a backup plan.

She’d searched high and low and couldn’t find any money anywhere in the house. She figured that he didn’t keep all of his money in the house, but she knew that he had to have some kind of money on hand.

She’d set up cameras, hoping that Primo hadn’t already beat her to it. She loved her man, but if she’d learned anything during her short time on earth it was not to let your heart lead you. She had to follow her head.

As she watched the video on the seventy-five inch television she paid close attention to Primo’s every move. She’d put cameras in all of the bedrooms and the living room. If she didn’t find anything in those rooms within a few weeks she’d add more cameras until she hit pay dirt.

She stopped the DVD of the footage of the living room, sure that she wouldn’t find anything there. When she watched the footage of their bedroom she noticed that Primo was having a lot of phone conversations when she wasn’t home. She turned up the volume and listened in.

“Honey, I know I was supposed to come out there but I couldn’t make it.”

“I know I was supposed to take the kids to Six Flags and Imma make it up to ‘em.”

“You don’t have to worry about me, I’m good out here.”

The things that he’d said during his secret phone calls always sounded like he was talking to a woman in Breeze’s opinion. Calling her honey and shit. And what the hell did he mean the kids?

She tried to make heads or tails the one sided conversations. He was cheating on her, case closed. He had been lying to her from day one.

As she continued to watch the footage, she noticed that he took big stacks of money into the bathroom, but didn’t have them when he came back out.

Why didn’t I put a camera in there? she asked herself as she stopped the DVD player.

Primo was out of town, probably with the woman that he was always having secret conversations with. Breeze didn’t want to waste any time so she went and bought some more tiny cameras to put in place before he decided to return home.

Once she’d gotten the cameras in place she tried to stop thinking about the secret phone calls but she couldn’t. Why hadn’t she ever suspected that he was cheating? And was he cheating on her or was she the other woman? She must have been the side chick since he had kids with the other woman.

He was usually home with Breeze three to four nights out of the week though, and he said he was always working when he wasn’t home. The more she thought about it the more it made sense.

If he was only home with Breeze three to four nights a week then he could easily be with his other woman and their children the other three to four nights a week. He probably told her that he was working whenever he was with Breeze.

She kicked herself for being so gullible. She had trusted him like an idiot, but she’d take him for all she could and leave, hopefully before the FBI got to his lying ass.
