The collection of documents known as the “Führer Conferences” was among the German Naval Archives captured by British and American Intelligence Officers at Tambach during the war.
The “Führer Conferences” are minutes of staff meetings between Hitler and the various commanders of the German Forces. Those presented here relate to naval affairs, and were written up from rough notes taken by the Commander-in-Chief, Navy or his deputy during the conferences.
The minutes are often verbose and filled with minor technical details. These minor details have either been summarised or omitted so as to bring out clearly the main Naval problems confronting Germany and how these problems were dealt with by a totalitarian state.
The German account of this action is given in the following reports and signals taken from the German Naval Archives.
