Bibliography

The following pages of bibliography will help you with your study of Modern Tantra. This bibliography will continue to grow.

Unless otherwise noted, items with a copyright from Sothis, Sothis-Weirdglow, Weirdglow-Sothis, or AMOOKOS, although uncredited in the actual book or article, were probably either written or translated by or have comments from Michael Magee (Lokanath Maharaj). Also, some photocopied articles were acquired through Mr. Magee. All Tantric practitioners owe him a great debt for all his hard work in bringing forth this wisdom!

One of the difficulties today is finding good books on traditional Tantra. While there are many books that call themselves “Tantric,” a good number of them are more creative than based on tradition. That does not make them bad, just not traditional. But if you are looking for traditional information, I could not do better than to recommend the books published by the Bihar School of Yoga. Several of their books are listed here.

Many of the books listed here were published in cities in India, including Delhi, New Delhi, Bombay, Mumbai, Madras, etc. Only city names are given for major cities, with additional information provided for unusual locations of publication.
