Epilogue
Seven months later
Anna glanced around the garden where she would be marrying Landon. Everyone had done everything they could to make sure this wedding would happen. She placed a hand on her stomach, feeling a little sick. Her pregnancy hadn’t been easy and had come with its fair share of problems, including her having to spend a great deal of time in bed.
“Landon will be here soon. He shouldn’t see you yet,” Maya said.
She turned toward Maya, who had come out to see her. Tears filled her eyes looking at the beautiful woman with her dark black hair.
“Don’t cry. Everything is being handled.”
“I know. I know. I can’t … this day, it has been, wow, a long time coming.”
Anna chuckled. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t burst into tears over the littlest thing.” She waved a hand in front of her face, trying to get her composure.
“You don’t need to worry about a thing.” Maya took her hand, leading her inside.
She watched from the door as the club took their seats. As she didn’t have a father as her parents died some time ago, Danny had offered to walk her down the aisle, and she’d accepted.
Landon had wanted to cancel their wedding because of the stress to her and the baby. Before their child was born, she wanted to be married.
“How are you feeling?” she asked, looking toward Maya.
After five months of rehab, Maya proved to the club she was better, and so long as she took weekly counseling visits, she’d been able to return to Vale Valley, with the promise she also went back to school. It hadn’t been easy. Duke made sure there was a guard following Maya around as well as having her take weekly drug tests. No one interfered when it came to Maya. If she’d continued the way she was going, she could have damaged the club’s reputation.
Anna adored her, and she lived with her and Landon. They’d become good friends.
“I’m doing good. I’m fine. Honestly. This is your big day, and you need to focus on that.”
“I know. I can’t believe this is happening.”
Misty rushed into the room. “It’s ready. We’re all ready.”
Danny was waiting for her as she stepped out. The wedding dress she’d helped design was perfect. It didn’t help hide the baby bump, but she didn’t care.
Everyone couldn’t believe Landon was settling down, about to have a child, and they were making a family together.
Music started up, and Danny, holding her arm, walked her behind Maya and Misty.
“You okay?”
“Never better.”
She walked up to Landon, who was waiting for her with a huge smile on his face. She smiled back at him, loving this moment more than anything.
She rubbed at the base of her back where she was getting a few twinges of pain. She’d been getting them throughout the morning, but there was no way this baby was stopping her from getting married.
Forcing a smile to her lips, she looked at Landon. He held her hands, and his thumb stroked across her hand.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
She nodded.
The priest began his sermon, and she cringed as pain rushed through her.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out what happened next as her water broke and she let out a cry.
“Holy shit, we’ve got to get her to the hospital,” Landon said. “Kasey!”
“No!” Anna screamed. “I’m not going to have this baby until we say the I do’s. I got all pretty for this very moment. We’re not leaving.”
“Anna!”
“Marry me!” she yelled.
“Hurry the fuck up,” Landon said. He held her hand as the priest got to the vows.
“Landon, I love you. I’ll tell you what I was going to say later.” She cried out as another wave of pain flooded her. “Much later.”
“I had a whole speech planned. We’ll get to it later. I love you, babe. Come on, I do, I love you.”
“I do.”
They kissed, and Landon picked her up in his arms as the priest declared them husband and wife.
With the club at their heels, Landon raced them to the hospital.
“This is going to be one hell of a story,” Landon said several hours later after she gave birth to a little boy, John.
