Samuel shrugged out of his suit jacket and laid it across the chaise lounge.
He gripped the knot of his tie, loosening it with small deliberate strokes that inexplicably kindled heat between Arlie’s thighs. Finally, he slid the tie from his neck, casting it off across his discarded jacket.
“Better?” he asked.
Arlie padded barefoot across the space between them.
“Almost.” Lifting her hands to his neck, she undid the button closest to his collar. Then another. And another.
Dizzy with desire, Arlie tilted her face up to his. The air was alive with electricity, crackling and sizzling with anticipation.
“All my life, I could have anything I wanted.” Cupping her jaw, he ran the pad of his thumb over her lower lip. “Except you.”
Arlie’s breath came in irregular bursts, something deep inside her tightening at his admission. “You want me?”
Samuel only looked at her, silent but saying all.
Yes.
