ABOUT OUR WRITERS

Writer John Blodgett moved to Utah three times in 16 years and still visits often. He’s explored almost every corner of the Beehive State, but has a particular passion for the south’s silent canyons and wide-open lands. He also became a better skier schussing Utah’s famous powder. Currently based in Libby, Montana, he has written for Utah Business, Salt Lake Magazine, Utah Homes & Garden, Salt Lake City Weekly, and Catalyst; and is now an editor, reporter, and photojournalist at The Western News. He updated the chapters on Capitol Reef, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, and Canyonlands national parks.

Aly Capito updated our Moab and Southeastern Utah, Dinosaurland and Eastern Utah, and Southwestern Utah chapters.

Johanna Droubay was raised in the beautiful Ogden Valley and recently relocated from Virginia to live there with her family. She is a freelance writer and editor, and a communications consultant for schools. Her work has been published by Potomac Review, The American Scholar, Willamette Week, and multiple alumni magazines. She is writing a memoir about returning to Utah. She updated the North of Salt Lake City, Experience, and Travel Smart chapters.

Kwynn Gonzalez-Pons is currently pursuing a PhD in social work, while also contributing to publications including Crixeo, Rewire, and the Foster Care Roundup as a freelance writer. She is a full-time resident of Salt Lake City. She updated the Salt Lake City chapter.

Caitlin Martz Streams is a Denver-based mountain enthusiast who spent 6 years living the dream in Park City, Utah. By day she is a tourism and hospitality public relations professional, and by night/weekends/every available spare hour she can be found in the mountains skiing, camping, hiking, or mountain biking with her husband, Ryan. Her second-greatest passion—travel—means she takes every opportunity to explore new places around the world, and of course, travel back to where her heart will always be: Utah. She updated the Park City chapter.
