The perfect addition to an otherwise boring outfit, an adorable crochet collar will add a touch of class and is a speedy easy project to boot. You’ll still be working in rows, but this time each one is different, creating pretty detailing and a fancy scalloped edge.

Thread cord or ribbon through the second row of your collar, thread the beads onto the ends and tie a knot to secure them. Decisions, decisions… should you wear the collar with the natty bow to the front or the back? It’s up to you. Just make sure it’s accompanied by a jaunty smile and add a little whimsy to your wardrobe.
If you want to make a longer or shorter collar simply increase or decrease the number of chains in the foundation row. Make sure your total number of chains is a multiple of four and add three more and the pattern will work perfectly.
Although cotton yarns work really well with this pattern, you can always experiment. It might be fun to choose a fluffy mohair yarn to make a winter collar, or even some super-chunky yarn for a mega version.
