Breakfast boosters

Hair, skin and nails will all benefit from this vibrant magenta and slightly creamy juice. Vitamin C is important in maintaining collagen levels in the body, which depletes with age leading to wrinkles and poor skin tone. Make sure the fruit is at the peak of ripeness for the best flavour and look for unsweetened coconut water.

1 large pomegranate, quartered and seeds removed

1 large mango, peeled, pitted and sliced

1 large handful of pitted fresh or frozen cherries

300 ml/1¼ cups coconut water

2  teaspoons açaí berry powder (see page 14)

1 teaspoon camu camu powder (see page 15)

SERVES 2

Juice the pomegranate, mango and cherries. Stir in the coconut water, açaí and camu camu powders.

coconut water is the liquid found inside a young, green coconut and is naturally slightly sweet. It is rich in potassium, which enhances the body’s ability to hydrate and makes it a useful drink after exercise or indeed if you have a hangover.
