Mango chai

Spices add a wonderful flavour boost and they’re good for you too, especially benefitting the digestive system. The blend of mango, carrot, spices and white tea is restorative and packed with antioxidants that have been found to protect cells from cancer-causing substances.

1 white tea bag

1 cinnamon stick

3 cardamom pods, split

1 medium mango, peeled, pitted and cubed

1 medium carrot, peeled and grated

1-cm/½-inch piece fresh root ginger, peeled and chopped

½ teaspoon ground turmeric

2 probiotic powder (see page 18) (check the recommended dosage on the bottle)

few drops echinacea (see page 18) (check the recommended dosage on the bottle)

Put the white tea bag in a cup of 300 ml/ 1¼ cups just-boiled water. Add the cinnamon stick and cardamom and allow to steep for 5 minutes, then remove the bag and allow the tea to cool and infuse. When cool, remove the spices and pour the tea into a blender. Add the mango, carrot, ginger, turmeric and probiotic powder and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and stir in the echinacea.
