MSM, a natural form of sulphur, is often referred to as the ‘beauty mineral’. While the nutrient is found in green leafy vegetables, many of us are deficient in MSM, so it may be wise to consider a supplement to boost levels. It helps with the formation of collagen, elastin, cartilage and keratin, benefitting the skin, nails and hair.

4 tablespoons goji berries

250 ml/1 cup coconut water

3 passion fruits, halved and fruit scooped out

2 large bananas, peeled and sliced

½–1 teaspoon MSM powder (see page 17)

1–2 teaspoons maca (see page 16)

SERVES 2

Soak the goji berries in 100 ml/⅓ cup pure or filtered water for 15 minutes until softened then tip into a blender with the coconut water, passion fruits, bananas, MSM powder and maca then blend until smooth – there will be small flecks from the passion fruit seeds.
