You can keep the skin on the apples if you like as it adds valuable fibre and nutrients and is almost undetectable when blended. Skin problems are said to benefit from eating apples on a regular basis, which is no doubt due to their ability to purify the blood, while pears and cherries have also been praised for giving a clear complexion and glossy hair.
2 pears, peeled, cored and chopped
2 apples, quartered, cored and chopped
2 handfuls of frozen pitted dark cherries
1–2 teaspoons wheatgrass powder (see page 18)
2 teaspoons cranberry powder (see page 18)

Put the pears, apples, cherries, wheatgrass powder and cranberry powder in a blender with 250 ml/1 cup pure or filtered water and blend until smooth.
