Part Two

Love

“A loving heart is the truest wisdom.”
—Charles Dickens

This section of the book, “Love,” is also divided into two chapters. “Authenticity, Willingness, and Compassion” considers where we stand in relation to the loving relationships in our lives, what our expectations might be of love as a goal and love as a spiritual principle, the importance of personal authenticity, and the fears and limiting beliefs that we may hold, either consciously or unconsciously. The chapter concludes with a willingness exercise that sets us in motion to expand our compassion and appreciation for others, thereby preparing us to experience an ever-higher level of loving energy in our lives.

Chapter four, “Turning Willingness into Love as a Habit,” gives us tools for daily practice. With courage and awareness, we consider how to keep ourselves in a state of love readiness, how to grow and maintain the spirit of love on a regular basis, and how to set boundaries where boundaries are necessary, healthy, and for our highest good. Ultimately, by following the suggested path of ongoing willingness as spelled out in this chapter, love becomes a lifestyle, a purpose, a way of being, and a habit; one that will bring us deep satisfaction and sustainable fulfillment in our lives.
