Stitch Glossary

Tunisian Simple Stitch (TSS)

Insert hook in side-to-side motion (right-to-left for right-handers and left-to-right for left-handers) under front vertical bar (see Photo 1).

Yarn over and pull a loop through (see Photo 2).

Tunisian Knit Stitch (TKS)

Each stitch is made up of a front and back vertical bar (see Photo 3).

Insert hook from front of work to back of work between the front and back vertical bars (see Photo 4).

Yarn over and pull a loop through (see Photo 5).

Tunisian Simple Stitch 2 together (TSS2tog)

Insert hook in a side-to-side motion under two front vertical bars simultaneously (see Photo 6).

Yarn over and pull a loop through (see Photo 7).

Tunisian Full Stitch (TFS)

Each stitch is made up of a front vertical bar and a back vertical bar which are separated by a chain at the top (see Photo 8).

Insert hook from front of work to back of work under the chain, being careful not to stitch into either bar of the stitch (see Photo 9).

Yarn over and pull a loop through (see Photo 10).

Tunisian Front Post Stitch (TFPS)

From front of work, insert hook from side of indicated stitch, (see Photo 11)

around the back of the stitch and to the front of work (see Photo 12).

Yarn over and pull a loop through (see Photo 13).

Tunisian Back Post Stitch (TBPS)

From back of work, insert hook from side of indicated stitch, (see Photo 14)

around the front of the stitch and to the back of work (see Photo 15).

Yarn over and pull a loop through (see Photo 16).

Skip a stitch to begin, insert hook as for Tunisian Simple Stitch (see Photo 17).

Yarn over and pull a loop through (see Photo 18).

Insert hook as for Tunisian Simple Stitch in the skipped stitch (see Photo 19).

Yarn over and pull a loop through (see Photo 20).

Cluster (cl)

The cluster used in this book is a three-stitch cluster. When counting the loops, don’t forget to count the very first loop on the hook, the one at the top of your hook (see Photo 21).

Yarn over and pull through four loops on hook to complete the cluster (see Photo 22).
