You’ll need one individual nest, or one square foot of community nest, for every four laying birds in your flock. Leonard Mercia recommends that individual nests be at least one foot in length, width and height. For community nests, provide two 9″×12″ openings for each twenty square feet of nest space. Provide a landing board in front of all openings, and have nests about two feet above the floor.
