Dear Reader,

When coming up with story ideas for a new holiday book, I try to go back to the movies and TV shows I loved most as a kid. And one of my all-time favorites (even now) is the Dr. Seuss classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas! I wondered how I could take that original concept and make it Harlequin Medical Romance–worthy—and also add more heart and depth and romance for the characters. Thus, Thad and Emma’s fairy-tale Manhattan love story was born!

My grumpy hero, Dr. Thad Markson, begins as a bit of a talented, mad hermit. Avoiding everyone and only focused on his work. But the sunshine heroine, nurse Emma Trudeau, has other plans and is determined to recruit the man everyone at the hospital has nicknamed the Grinch of Fifth Avenue into helping her make one sick little boy’s wishes come true. Together, they both rediscover the magic of the holidays and the blessing of true love, too.
