Leah stood in her doorway holding yet another vase of a dozen roses. This was the twelfth delivery she had received since getting home from work. Every fifteen minutes the doorbell to her townhouse sounded. The first delivery made her smile. The third had tears forming in her eyes. The fourth had her anticipation building. With each vase there was a one-word message. After the fifth delivery she stood by the door waiting. Every empty downstairs surface was filling up with red roses just as the scent from the flowers filled the area. By the time the twelfth delivery appeared, she had placed all the cards on her island in the order they were received. Together they read: Do you believe in love at first sight? Yes? Open the door.
Leah ran to the front door and swung it open. Matt was standing there with a single long stem rose in his hand.
“Only a single red rose can capture the vibrant look of your eyes, the smooth touch of your skin, or the sweet taste of your lips.”
Leah reached out then pulled him into her arms. “I don’t want the neighbors to see me jump your bones.”
“I don’t care who sees,” Matt said as his lips captured hers. “Let’s get this first one out of the way.”
“You ain’t said nothing but a word,” Leah said as she pulled away, stripping the dress she wore over her head.
Matt smiled as he pushed his pants to the floor, stepped out of his shoes then lifted her into his arms. Her legs wrapped around him, as he carried her to the island in her kitchen.
He pulled her thong down her legs, then kissed his way up her thighs, placing them over his shoulder, then he dipped.
Leah’s body jerked up, at the touch of his mouth on her inner lips. They were soft, but the suck was oh so strong. He was pulling and sucking with vigor; her first orgasm came within minutes of his touch.
His tongue moved fast to capture every drop of her sweet, sweet juice. Matt was determined not to allow any of if to escape. Then he dipped his tongue inside of her, she jerked. He placed his hand on her stomach, holding her in place. He needed to make her cum again. He wanted to taste it as she exploded. His tongue dodged in and around with all the force he could muster. He felt her contractions building around it. He wasn’t going to stop until he got his fill. His thumb caressed her nub, over and over, with the rhythm of his tongue dodging in and out. And there it was. He sucked every drop until there was no more. He moved his lips to her stomach, his hands roamed up to her breasts, caressing them until her nipples grew hard under his touch. Then he held his head up and watched her face as he eased inside her inch by inch. The slow motion caused him to groan as the heat of her surrounded him.
“You feel as good as you taste, Leah.”
He went deeper and deeper into the warmth of her. She was so slick from the juices he had built up. Her moans caused him to grow more. He moved deeper. He could feel her lips tightening, her body tensing, her hands reaching out for his. He took them in his, then plunged deeper, causing her body to contract again and again, squeezing him until the explosion rocked both of them to within an inch of no return.
Matt gently pulled her body up, holding her tight against his chest, kissing her cheeks, her eyelids, the tip of her nose, and then those oh so sweet lips…he had reached heaven.
Leah laid her head on his shoulder. She ran her hands over his muscles as her mind began to slowly return to normal. Her body felt as if she was floating on a cloud. For the first time in her life, she felt secure, loved, and just a little afraid. This man could break the little semblance of pride she had. Then he brushed her hair across her shoulder, turned her face so that he could see her eyes. The fear disappeared.
“Are you okay?” he asked in the sweetest voice.
Leah smiled. “I felt like I was on a cloud. Can you take me there again?”
He smiled at her. “Direct me to your bedroom. Your wish is my command.”
Hours later, they came up for air long enough to talk.
“Are you feeling the shift in the atmosphere?” Leah asked, wrapped in Matt’s arms.
“I felt it yesterday in Terry’s conference room. That call to you from Terry has changed our lives. We have to make our first daughter her namesake.”
“And if we don’t have any girls?”
“Then we will have a son named Terry,” Matt laughed. “Maybe that name will keep him out of the dangerous careers my brothers are in. “
Leah rolled over, adjusted her body between his legs then looked into his eyes. “A person is destined for whatever God places in their lives. Your brothers,” she shrugged, “whatever they do, are following their paths just as you are following yours. Society thinks our men have to be larger than life rather than everyday heroes to be relevant. We need the inventors, the football and basketball players, but we also need men like you...the quiet heroes. While some deal with the physical strength and endurance, we tend to dismiss those who deal with the mental and emotional state of others. One is just as important as the other. You are in a unique position to touch minds. You have a way of connecting with children. From the way you talk about your family I think that trait comes from your mother. Our children need an African-American male figure they can look up to who may not be a celebrity, or sports star, just an everyday Joe who makes them feel like they are important. And the fact that you are one fine specimen of a man don’t hurt a sista’s eyes.” She smiled. “You are the type of hero our children need in this day and time to show them they are important, just as they are.”
As she talked Matt ran his hand down her back. The softness of her skin combined with the soothing sound of her voice made him realize once and for all, his life was now complete. This woman, who only entered his life twenty-four hours ago, had uplifted him in ways he could not deny. Including the rise he was physically getting from the warmth of her body between his legs.
“What about you?”
“What do you mean?”
“You are laying here encouraging me. You should use some of those same thoughts for yourself. I haven’t met him, but your father doesn’t seem to respect or encourage you to follow your dream. Some of the things you’ve shared with me are phenomenal. You can’t allow your father or anyone else to deter you from your full potential. If he will not allow you to grow in his company, start your own company. Put the changes you have in mind in a fleet of buses and move forward. At some point you have to believe in yourself or you will always be chasing a dream. From the sounds of it you are searching for something your father may not be willing to give. You have dedicated your adult life to doing what you think will earn his love and respect. Maybe it’s time to love and respect yourself. In time, he will come around. I think starting and designing your own fleet will make you proud.”
“I have bills to pay, I can’t afford to start my own company.”
“What would you need?” Matt asked as he pulled her close. “A fleet of buses, maybe five to start with and a few drivers? Right?”
“Insurance,” she added. “On-site maintenance. At least one secretary to keep the office running while I hunt for potential customers.”
“What if I have Brooks-Pendleton send some of their business your way?”
“The sports agents?” She sat up surprised. “Can you do that?”
“I can certainly ask.” Matt adjusted her body to straddle him. “What else?” he asked as he eased himself into her opening.
“Ooh…capital,” she moaned. “At least three years of salary to pay my people until we build up clientele.”
He lifted her body, then eased her back down. Her head fell back. “I can’t believe we are talking about me competing with my father,” she slowly hissed.
Matt growled, “We’re not.” His breathing became ragged as he rolled her on to her back. “We are talking about you following your dream.”
She pushed her body up, taking all of him. “Hmm,” she gasped. “A dream, that’s what you feel like inside of me.”
Matt raised her body until her nipple reached his lips. “Heaven, Leah, you are my pathway.” He wrapped her legs around him as she braced her body on his thighs, her arms around his neck. “Take me to heaven, Leah.”
Her body moved in circular motions, as his tongue followed the rhythm on her breast. The sensations were so sweet her body moved faster. His lips sucked harder. The anticipation growing wilder, as he was growing longer, thicker, harder with each circle. There was no way she could slow down, her movements increased trying to keep up with the pumping of her heart, the adrenaline flowing through her veins, the heat increasing. His strong arms tightened around her waist holding her securely in place allowing her to have her way with him until the scream could no longer be contained.
“Matt…..Matt….Matt….ahh, ahhh, ahhhhhh.”
The blood rushed to her heart, then sped its way to her brain, releasing all the hurt from the past. Making room for the love with this man in her future. “Yes, yes, yes.”
Matt eased her back, kissing her throat, her cheeks, her lips, then he rose above her. Hips in his control, pumping voraciously inside, allowing the heated juice from her explosion to lubricate the hard steel of him as he plunged deeper to feel the very essence of all she had to give. He took every single drop then exploded, giving her what he hoped to be the beginning of their family. He did not want to waste one drop of his seed on anything other than the merging of their future.
