Amid all the horror stories, success stories, and outright miracles surrounding the political and military leaders during wartime, the lower-ranking figures sometimes fall between the cracks. There were several people who may have stood just outside the spotlight but whose actions contributed to our awareness of the details involved in every aspect of the war.
