A native of Pittsburgh, the “Steel City” of the Gilded Age, Cecelia Tichi is an award-winning author and teacher whose half dozen previous books span the glittering manners and dubious mores of the “Age,” its technology, and its movers and shakers from the celebrated authors Jack London and Edith Wharton to the steel mogul Andrew Carnegie. Tichi teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in American literature and culture at Vanderbilt University. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
