To protect privacy and security, some of the names and places in this true-crime book are pseudonyms. For example, Hannah, Mike, and Dale are aliases, as are the names of their family members, associates, and some employers. The FBI crime analyst requested an alias. Individuals who could not be contacted for their consent or who are described as engaging in potentially criminal conduct were also provided pseudonyms.
