To my father, Charles Franklin Corley, the greatest campfire storyteller of his generation and one of the smartest men I have ever known. As a young boy, I loved staying up past my bedtime and curling up next to my dad on the couch to watch old war movies. I think he would have liked this novel; it has lots of explosions and soldiers doing brave things.
