MY PATIENCE IS WEARING THIN.
Slinking back into the darkness of the night, I let the veil of shadows embrace me. Tracking Hunter and Raya all over town was not on my agenda for the night.
Movement in one of the upstairs windows captures my attention. Closely, my eyes survey Cas as he paces back and forth. Narrowing my eyes, I shift into a seated position, watching closely.
When Raya and Hunter appear in the driveway, Cas glances out the window at them. After a moment, he disappears from view, his room blanketing into darkness.
Moving for a better angle, I check in on the other human, who is sprawled on top of the bedspread in a deep sleep.
Raya and Hunter move into her room, acting like a pair of lovesick teenagers. My stomach roils. I can’t think about that right now. I can’t lose focus.
If they don’t move this adventure along, I will have to do it for them.
I am not waiting around while they explore the exciting perks of ‘being a vampire’. I might have all the time in the world, but I do not have time for that.
The clock is ticking.
They better get a move on before time runs out for his little human.
Tick, tock.
