CONCLUSION

We've traveled to the outer reaches of our solar system and concluded our brief visit to the sun, moon, and planets. As astrological explorers, we've examined the natures of our celestial neighbors and how they influence us here on earth. We've gained a greater understanding and appreciation for the cosmos and our place in it.

You can study astrology and magick for the rest of your life and never learn it all. This book is intended as a brief introduction to these ancient arts and a guide for using astrology to enhance your magick work. From here, you may choose to pursue astrology or magick or both further. The deeper you delve, the more you'll discover; and, I suspect, the more fascinated you'll become. You'll come to understand how everything on earth and in the heavens is interrelated, and how you fit into this magickal universe in which we live.

If you've been a solitary magician until now, you may want to explore the possibility of working with a group—or at least celebrating the sabbats with other people. Even if you can't find a group nearby, you can join an online organization that shares ideas, information, and experiences. The Witches’ Voice (www.witchvox.com) is a good place to start. Perhaps you'd like to explore different types of magick to see which best suit your personality and needs. You don't have to limit yourself to a single system. If you hadn't integrated astrology into your spells and rituals before—and now realize that it can benefit your work—you may choose to learn more.

A good way to expand your astrological knowledge is to attend classes and/or conferences (such as the United Astrology Conference) offered by astrological organizations such as the American Federation of Astrologers or the National Council for Geocosmic Research. Visit their websites for information about courses, webinars, workshops, publications, membership, and more.

I also encourage you to read articles, books, blog posts, whatever captures your interest. New ideas and techniques are being discovered and developed all the time. Each door you open will lead to another. In addition, keep a grimoire to record your experiences and track your progress.

Above all, practice. Magick and astrology aren't spectator sports. Like other skills, they grow sharper the more you use them. Don't be afraid to make a “mistake.” As James Joyce wrote, “Mistakes are the portals of discovery.” Don't feel you need to be an expert—start where you are. Let your intuition guide you. Explore, experiment, enjoy.
