Joseph Sidari writes long and short fiction from Boston. He is a member of SFWA and Grub Street Writers. As a practicing physician, he works hard at caring for his patients while trying to kill his protagonists. He has published over a dozen short stories online and in print. He would never, ever step on an ant, just in case ‘they’ are watching.

“Revenge of the Antmen” began as a single sentence rant I wrote for an assignment in a writing class I took at Grub Street. I loved the unnamed scientist so much I added a few more sentences, converted it to this podcast formula, and then submitted it to the 2023 Parsec Short Story Contest, where it won first prize and was featured in the CONFLUENCE program for the Pittsburgh Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention. Due to the small circulation of that program, it was not considered an official publication, which is why you are reading it in Dragon Gems right now. Let me know if you find the Easter Egg from a classic “Twilight Zone” episode among the various classic SF references.
