1. Cut a strip of paper about 6 inches long and 1 inch wide, depending on how big your cat’s head is.
2. Fold the strip of paper in half, and make a wavy cut along the top as shown. Make sure you start the cut where the paper fold is.
3. Open the paper. It should look like the rolling hills of Tuscany.
4. Curl and glue the paper into a cylinder shape.
5. The slanted side of the cylinder is going to be the top of your hat. Glue it down to a piece of paper of the same color, then trim the excess once it’s dry.
6. Now for the brim. Glue the hat onto a rectangular piece of paper, leaving enough room in the front of the hat to cut the shape of the brim.
7. Once the glue is dry, trim around the hat. Leave a section jutting out in the front.
8. Curl the corners of the brim, and add whatever details you desire. I added a small strip of paper in the front, and used a small hole punch to make a button on each side. The patch was made with patterned scrapbook paper and tiny strips of white paper for the stitching.
