All I can say is “yum!” The Spice Diet takes care of chocoholics and sweet lovers.
1 cup unsweetened dark cocoa powder
1 teaspoon orange zest
¼ cup fresh orange juice
1 teaspoon dark rum
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
⅓ cup finely chopped toasted hazelnuts
Combine the cocoa powder and orange zest in a small bowl. Make a well in the center and pour in the orange juice, rum, and maple syrup. Stir until the ingredients are completely blended. Chill the chocolate mixture for at least 30 minutes.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove the chocolate mixture from the refrigerator, roll into small balls about ½ inch across, and coat with the crushed hazelnuts. Serve chilled.
