Madison
Wrapped up in Matt’s strong, warm arms, Madison felt safe, as if nothing could hurt her, a feeling she’d never had with anyone else. Even after talking about her past, she didn’t feel scared or helpless while she was with him.
Madison snuggled in closer. She had missed him so much these last few weeks.
Matt started to pull his arm away. “Sugar, have you eaten today? Can I get you something?”
“No.” Madison tightened her grip on him. “I know it’s silly, especially after what we just went through, but I feel so secure in your arms, I don’t want you to leave.”
“Sugar, I’m not going anywhere. Well, just to the kitchen. But you can come with me. I was just going to fix you something to eat.”
“Matt, I don’t want food,” she said in a whisper.
“Okay. Is there anything else I can get you?”
She wanted to tell him what made her change her mind about him, that his selflessness and actions to make himself a better man were what made her stop and think twice. It wasn’t the flowers or the cupcakes. It wasn’t the phone calls or the texts. It was him, being a man, taking responsibility for his actions, and wanting to be better. Anyone could try to be better, but unless they wanted to become better for themselves, it was a null action.
Matt wasn’t changing for her; he was working on himself because she had brought something about himself to light that he wasn’t happy about.
“Sugar, what are you thinking about?” Matt asked, as he watched her.
“Just how sexy it is when a man takes charge of his life and decides to be the best person he can be.”
“Oh really?” Matt smirked. “That sounds a lot like me. And the sexy part makes me a dead ringer.” He flexed his arm, showing his muscle.
Madison shook her head in amusement and softly smiled. “You really are.”
The happy and contented look in his eyes told her that she didn’t need to explain herself to him. He was just satisfied that she was here, and that was all anyone really wanted. Someone who was happy to have them and who wanted to love them. She’d had that in Matt since his first massage appointment.
“I still remember the first time I met you.” She paused and watched his smile light up his face. “You came into the office to see if Bryan could help with your shoulder pain. He suggested a massage, and I was the lucky girl who was available.”
Matt chuckled. “You helped loosen up my shoulder, then dug right into the very spot on my hip that hurt.”
Madison laughed. “You flinched so much I thought you might just fall off the massage table.” She couldn’t help but laugh at her memories.
Matt shook his head with a laugh also. “That really did hurt.”
“That day, the way you made me laugh, and you suggested we should hang out, then asked me to coffee... I knew you were something special.” Madison sighed to hide the embarrassed giggle that tried to escape her. “But we were in that friend zone, and I tried so hard to fight my feelings for you. And when you kissed me after our fancy dinner in Wilkes-Barre...”
Matt looked away from her and fumbled with his phone, until music played. He sat his phone on the coffee table, and James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go” filled the room.
Matt took her face in his big, rough hands, and stared into her eyes. His blue eyes were dark, and a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. He pressed his soft lips to hers, his kiss soft and sweet. His scruff scratched her face, but she didn’t care.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened their kiss. This was the man she was meant to be with, and she never wanted him to let her go. Their tongues tangled as she took in his spicy, manly scent. He intoxicated her, and she knew she didn’t want a life without him.
Madison stood up and slowly pulled off her shirt and pants, keeping her eyes glued to Matt. He sat back on the couch and watched her every move. Once she was in only her bra and panties, she sat down beside him and began to unbutton his shirt, then went to work on his blue jeans, until only his boxer briefs remained.
The music continued to play in a loop, repeating over and over, as Madison lay back on the couch and pulled his hard body on top of her.
They didn’t speak; they didn’t need to. The lusty yet loving look in his eyes was all she needed, and she was sure her eyes said the same. Matt’s lips trailed down her torso, then back up to her chest. He kissed around her cleavage, then pulled the fabric of her bra away to kiss under it. Madison reached around her back and unclasped the bra, letting it fall loose.
Matt pulled the bra away, and she gasped at the cool air hitting her taut nipples. Once his warm mouth covered one of her nipples, she melted into his muscle clad arms. He slowly freed her of her panties and sat back for a moment, staring at her.
“God, Maddy, you are so damn beautiful. I really don’t deserve you.”
Madison put a finger to her lips and shushed him. “That’s not up for discussion.”
She reached to the floor for his jeans pocket and pulled his wallet out. Grabbing a condom, she tossed his wallet back down to the ground. She slipped a finger under the elastic waist of his boxer briefs and pulled the fabric down, exposing the amazing, sexy cuts of his V line, that drove females crazy.
There was something about that part of a man. It was hot. And right now, it was directing all her attention to his hard-on.
Matt slid his boxer briefs straight to the floor, and then tore open the foil package. Watching him roll the condom on, Maddy pulled her bottom lip between her top teeth.
Without a word, his body covered hers. His lips joined hers as he slowly pushed inside her, filling her completely. Madison tossed her head back, and a moan formed in her throat at how amazing he felt inside her. He kissed down her neck to her collarbone, his scratchy whiskers tickling her as he went.
She bucked her hips, taking him deeper, as he slowly made sweet love to her. No pillow talk, no sexy murmurs, just her sexy, muscle-bound, amazing man silently pleasing her over and over until her body trembled. He kissed her lips, then pulled back as adrenaline ran through her veins and his gaze stayed on her as they climaxed together.
MATT PULLED HER ON top of him and cuddled her as they lay on the couch. Madison lay with her head and shoulders on his chest, still trying to catch her breath after their impromptu lovemaking. She knew, deep in her heart, that she loved this man with all she had. Taking her hand, he dropped soft kisses on her knuckles, still not moving from their post-sex position. He did things to her that no one ever had. Besides the amazingly intense orgasm, he made her feel so many different sensations and emotions.
“You okay?” he whispered, his words filled with concern.
She loved that the big, bad, hockey enforcer always thought about her feelings first. He had come into her life unannounced, rocked her world, shattered her, and somehow picked up all the pieces inside. And now she was sure he would never hurt her. He held her heart, and that made him even sexier in her eyes.
“I’m perfect.” I’m more than perfect. I’m better than I’ve been in a long time. “I do think I still owe you a rubdown though.” Turning around, she motioned towards the massage table.
He waved her off with a teasing smirk. “Nah, that was better than any rub down.”
Her face washed over with warmth at his comment. “I meant the massage I came here to give you.”
Ignoring her words, he tilted her head up towards his. “Stay the night with me. Please?” His eyes were dark and heavy. “I missed the way you feel in my arms.”
Madison smirked. “It’s only three thirty in the afternoon.”
“So?” His calloused fingertips ran down her spine, scattering chills throughout her body. “Stay. I’ll order dinner.”
“Will you sing to me again?”
“What? I don’t know about that.” Matt’s face reddened, and he looked away. It was the first time she’d ever seen him embarrassed.
“Please?” Madison said, in a sweet tone. She lightly ran her fingers in an invisible circle along his collarbone. “That was the best gift anyone ever gave me.”
“You are talking about me singing, aren’t you? I’ve done my share of karaoke, and I can’t say anyone ever wanted a repeat performance of that.” His words were full of playful sarcasm.
“Please. It was beautiful. I don’t need expensive things. I’m not materialistic, never have been. But that song, that was from the heart. It was the perfect song, and it meant so much that you did that.” She felt safe and at home with his large, athletic body surrounding her. “How long were you plotting that, anyway?”
“The song? I really had no plan. It wasn’t a scheme or anything. I hadn’t been able to get you out of my mind. The month we were apart felt like years. Then I heard that song on the radio. It was our song, from that night at the restaurant, when you were practically undressing me.” He snickered.
Madison chuckled. “I was trying to loosen you up. You said you felt overdressed, so I was fixing that.”
“You call it loosening me up, I call it undressing me.” Matt shrugged. “Anyway, I was hoping you’d remember and realize it meant just as much to me. I wanted to beg you to not let go, to not walk away, and the song was the best way I knew how to do that. I could’ve played it on my phone, but I decided singing the song would be more meaningful. It might not have sounded so great, but I was willing to take that chance.”
He had no idea how right he was. There were no words to describe how she was feeling, or how happy he made her. So instead, she pressed her lips to his, and showed him.
“Madison, when I’m with you, I’m in heaven. I used to be just a million broken pieces floating from minute to minute, going through the motions of life. The best part of my life was playing hockey. Now, with that surely coming to an end, sooner rather than later, it’s you that brightens my days. You make me feel alive again. I know that sounds all girly and shit, but it’s true.”
How could she have ever compared this man to her ex-boyfriend? Matt was nothing like him. He might be big and strong, and cause havoc on the ice, but that was not the same man who had sung those words to her, with only an acoustic guitar accompanying him.
“Sure, I thought I was happy with Lindsay, and a few random girls passed the time after she left. But being with you is a feeling I’ve never experienced. Well, I have felt something close to it once, when we won the Cup. But that still doesn’t compare to having you in my arms.”
She twisted so that she was lying on his chest and her hips were cradled in his. Now she was face-to-face with him. Maddy ran her finger over his bottom lip while she bit at her own. She lowered her lips to his, needing to feel him close to her again.
“Is it weird that this has taken such a dramatic turn?” Matt asked against her lips. “I mean, did you ever think, back in Wilkes-Barre, that we’d be here?”
“Maybe.” She slid her arms under his shoulders. “I just want to be enough for you.”
“Oh Madison, you’re more than enough.” Grabbing her tight, he rolled her over, so that his hard, muscular body now pinned her small frame against the couch. “It’s me who should worry about not being enough for you. But I’ll work hard every moment we’re together, until I’m the man you deserve. Thirty days sober is only the beginning. With you in my life, I know I can be better.”
Her eyes drifted shut, as his warm lips caressed her neck. This amazing man has nothing more to prove, but it’ll be a fun ride watching him try. A moan formed at the back of her throat, as his teeth scraped her skin, and the way he sucked heavily at her neck was sure to leave a mark when he was done.
After grabbing a new condom, lying skin to skin, body to body, she let out a low moan as his sheathed erection pressed against her opening. His strong arms curled around her shoulders while he buried his face in her breasts. The light scratching of his stubble tickled as he kissed her. Her heart was full, and her pulse raced. His sinful grin was now mixed with satisfaction as his lips devoured hers.
Gradually, he pushed inside her. Energy coursed through her body with every slow rock of his hips. Curling her ankles around his well-built legs, she gave him ample room to move deeper, but he took every thrust and movement slowly. Her stomach twisted, aching for more.
His burly, muscular frame, pinned against hers, had already sent an ache of need between her legs. One last thrust had her spinning out of control and her body shaking in an amazing climax.
Matt growled. “Mmm-hmm, that’s what I like to see.” His hands traced her figure, all the way up to her nipples, heating her body and revving it up for more.
The minutes turned into hours of unhurried and calculated pleasure. The massage was long since forgotten, as they got lost in each other. Maddy had never had so many orgasms and had never felt so complete with a man before Matt. He was everything she never thought she needed.
