Author’s Note

 

My publisher has proposed a new printing of this book, first published forty years ago. Since I am as much my publisher in the business of selling books, I have agreed.

Over the years I have made several returns to the small verse play, “The Bringer of Water,” attempting to make improvements, and for this printing I have revised it further. It was not satisfactory as first published. Whether or not I have now made it good, I feel pretty sure that I have made it better.

Otherwise I have changed nothing.
