Five-Spice Roasted Cauliflower

SERVES 4

1 head cauliflower, broken into florets

15 pitted dates, chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder

¼ teaspoon sea salt

SAUCE

½ cup tahini

¼ cup hemp seeds

1 teaspoon ground turmeric

¾ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preheat the oven to 400ºF. In a large bowl, combine the cauliflower, dates, olive oil, five-spice powder, and salt and toss to combine. Evenly distribute the cauliflower among four small ramekins. Roast for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the tops turn slightly brown.

While the cauliflower roasts, combine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and stir until blended. Top the cauliflower with the sauce before serving.
