Cast-Iron Skillet Apple Crumble

APPLES

4 Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced

3 tablespoons ghee, melted

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ cup coconut sugar

CRUMBLE

¾ cup almond flour

½ cup unsweetened coconut flakes

¾ cup chopped walnuts

½ cup chopped pecans

2 tablespoons chia seeds

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons melted coconut oil

2 tablespoons honey

Pinch of sea salt

Preheat the oven to 375ºF. Prepare the apples: In a large bowl, toss the apples, ghee, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and coconut sugar to combine. Transfer the mixture to a cast-iron skillet or baking dish.

Make the crumble: Combine the almond flour, coconut flakes, walnuts, pecans, chia seeds, cinnamon, coconut oil, honey and salt in a large bowl and mix well. Spread the crumble on top of the apples. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the crumble starts to turn brown.
