About the Author

If it weren’t for my father, Dale Claiborne, and my mother, Ouida Alderman, who many times allowed me to bring home stray cats and dogs, frogs, lizards, birds, and anything else that was hurt or that I found in need of care, I might not have found myself writing about my most favorite thing in the world besides my three children—animals. Thanks to my husband, John Ingram, who continues to support and fund my projects. He’s spent many, many hours helping me make animal cages for the animals I foster for our wildlife sanctuary, which includes squirrels, rabbits, ducks, etc. He also helps me with videos and accessories used for my school talks and more. Thank you.

Next time you think, “What can I do to help?” remember—one person can make a huge difference. Whether it’s donating money or food for a sanctuary or society that’s nearest and dearest to your heart, or whether it’s donating your time—you can make a difference for the good of many. Never give up!

My thanks go to everyone at Keepers of the Wild sanctuary for all the help with facts and the support you’ve given to me! Special thanks to Jonathan Kraft, Tina Matejek, Nicole Walls, animal keepers, and volunteers. You all do an excellent job taking care of these animal victims. Bless you all.
