Prostate 
Prostate Older male dogs, just as their human counterparts, may develop enlarged prostate glands. Signs to watch for include straining to urinate and defecate and producing very small, pencil-like stools. The animal may also urinate more frequently and dribble afterward.
The homeopathic remedy Pulsatilla is indicated if the animal is clingy and wants to be in your company. If the animal is more aggressive, restless, or irritable and seeks cool places, then use the remedy Iodium. You should see relief of symptoms within a few days. The remedies can be used by themselves or along with any regular medication.
Pulsatilla 30C or Iodium 30C: Once or twice a day for five days.
I recommend saw palmetto, the same herbal preparation used by men. It can be used long-term preventively or as a therapeutic aid to any treatment. I have had good results with combinations of saw palmetto, acupuncture, and homeopathy. For additional relief, I suggest a “male glandular” product from the health food store that contains prostate and testicular tissue.
Small dogs, one-quarter the human dosage; larger dogs, full human dosage.
