Conclusion

When I first started driving for Uber and Lyft, I would never have imagined that so much could go into driving people around for money. Uber and Lyft don’t provide a ton of training, so you have a lot of new drivers who feel like they’re on their own, but you’re not alone!

All of the concepts in this book may seem like a lot to digest at first, but over time, they become second nature. A savvy driver knows that there are no guarantees when it comes to rideshare driving and it pays to be strategic—and sometimes even a little cutthroat.

And like anything in life, there are positives and negatives to this job. You will have some expenses, liability, and reporting requirements to worry about, but those can be mitigated with smart planning and preparation. We’ve even shared tools that will help automate this process and allow you to focus on the fun part: earning more money. For me, the positives clearly outweigh the negatives and I love being able to take advantage of the flexibility and earning potential of rideshare driving.

Not everyone will be able to make this gig work, but I’m confident that this book will give you the best chance for success. It’s important to do your due diligence and research, but ultimately it will be up to you to execute and apply what you’ve learned.

So don’t forget to work smarter, not harder, and drive safe out there!
