If you made it this far, I hope you enjoyed Candace and Ezra’s long ride to love! It was more emotional than I normally write, but it felt right to me in the end. Or the beginning really, since I like to imagine them heading off into the future, making up for all the time they lost. But we’ll see...! This story was also randomly personal for me. I set it around the cities in the Bay Area where I grew up, had my heart broken a few times and enjoyed laughing with my friends many more times than that. I also based their unnamed college on my alma mater, where I lost and found myself more times than I can count. Go Gaels! And unexpectedly, it’s been helping me deal with some unexpected grief after losing my favorite cousin, who was always optimistic and kind with the biggest smile on his face. His memory is a lovely reminder for me that life rarely turns out the way we expect, but there’s still so much to be thankful for. I hope that gives each of you a bit of comfort.
If you’re inclined to leave a review wherever you feel comfortable, I’d appreciate it. Or if you have a friend who you think might enjoy this story, please share! But more than anything, I hope that 2020 is good to you all. If 2019 was hard for you, I can more than relate and I hope this new year treats you kindly. If 2019 was the best year yet, I hope 2020 is even better. Be kind to yourselves in the new year, even when it’s hard.
And lastly, look out next year for the rest of the Love At Last trilogy: One More Valentine (Mei and Miles aren’t over just yet!) and Just Another Pride (Jorge’s blast from the past might not be a billionaire, but he’s always had his heart).
