Chapter Three

Fish leaned back and stared at the woman who had his attention for the last few hours. Damn, she had a fine ass, he thought and took another sip of his whiskey. “Damn, Fish, what the fuck is going on?” the General asked. “I was pretty sure the Lady Riders were running for their guns a little bit ago when that blonde chick flicked Freedom between the eyes with her fingers.”

“They got fire,” Fish said, and the General laughed.

Well, that or they are stupid. Do they not realize it’s not a smart thing to do with a Lady Rider?”

“I am pretty sure they aren’t stupid, especially since both women pulled out switchblades when Shady called them cunts again.”

The General chuckled. “You know, I haven’t had this much fun in a long time. Rain is in a tizzy trying to get Georgie and Sofia to take apart their bikes in the parking lot.”

Fish’s gaze moved from the woman when they heard the door opening. “Well shit,” Fish said and watched as all the Furies walked into the room.

“Woot,” a woman yelled and ran toward Shadow, Doc, and Marbles, throwing her hands up in the air and jumping into Shadow’s arms. “I thought you were already gone! I am so happy you are here. My brother…”

Marble laughed and looked around to a group of men who walked in. “Oh, where is that handsome, way too serious, hunk of an asshole who refused to fuck me?”

“Whore!” Harmony yelled loudly.

“Jaci, get your ass out of his arms, dammit. I told you…” Loki snapped.

“Honey,” an older woman said softly, which made the General stop and turn. Fish stared at his friend who was focused. “Do you think Buddy really belongs in a bar?”

Fish looked around and saw the small boy who was clinging to Loki’s leg while the large man held the back of his head protectively.

“LITTLE MAN!” Shadow yelled.

“Shadow!” the young boy yelled and waved. “Hello, Doc and Marbles!” he said shyly, and everyone in the room fell silent.

“Sorry,” Fling said and ran a hand across the back of his neck. “When, uh, Jaci heard Doc and Marbles were here, she insisted on coming over.”

The older woman snorted. “She is a CIA Operative; I do not believe she actually insisted so much as walked out of the door.”

“Seriously?” Loki glared at his mother. “Do you need to keep saying that?”

Well, she is,” the older woman said. “And I taught her everything I know, when I see her going all badass it makes an old woman proud, you know.”

“Can someone please just tell me where Dani is so I can see her?” Doc snapped. “She is hurt, and I am a medic.”

Well, we have Boo who is a PA now, so that trumps you,” Freedom said, crossing her arms over her chest, and the other Lady Riders nodded.

“Come on,” Fork groaned. “Are we seriously going to get into a pissing contest when either of you opens your mouths?”

“Fuck yeah we are,” Shady snapped and then glared at Doc. “Especially when this bitch thinks she is badder that I am.”

Doc laughed loudly. “That is because I am, but it’s also because I’m not knocked up. I’m sure if you weren’t pregnant you would have a sporting chance but since you are, well tough shit. And for the record, I am a licensed PA as well, so whoever the fuck Boo is, does not have the experience I do unless she was in combat as well.”

Fish watched as the Furies walked across the room and they stood with the women called the Satan’s Sisters. Creed cursed under his breath and then looked at Fork.

“Get Slick and Jack-Jack.”

The Vice President nodded and looked over his shoulder and yelled to Maxi who looked like he was about ready to kick someone’s ass. Fish walked slowly to where the rest of the Ops were standing, and he hooked his thick hands in his belt loops and sighed. Damn, it had been a long time since he had mixed it up with anyone. He really was glad his law license was approved in Cali; they may need it.

Doc stared at the group of people in front of here. Shit, this was not what she wanted. She only wanted Dani, and then she was going to get the fuck out of here. Now, the Furies whom she had really enjoyed talking to yesterday were involved. This was getting out of control quickly. She needed to stop it, especially if they were thinking about making the move down here. She turned to Loki and said quietly, “You guys were serious about owing us?” and Marbles tensed next to her. Loki looked at Fling who nodded.

“Good, we need a sponsor club,” Doc said quietly, and Fling’s eyes widened.

Sunshine leaned around her husband and winked. “Sure, Doc, the Furies would be glad to help.”

Here was the thing, they were a club, but no one took them seriously because they were only women. Sad but true, especially since they had already proved themselves time and time again in the Corp. When they got out, none of them had the desire to actually keep proving that they were capable. They had all talked months ago about this. They had heard about the Lady Riders from Shadow who told them about Boony. They wanted that, but they wanted to do good, which was why when Loki explained a little what their club did, well, it had struck a chord in Doc. She served her country proudly, and she would like to continue to serve, but she hadn’t thought about being mercs. The idea appealed to her.

Of course, she was going to take it back to the club and ask what they thought, but they were here, and if they wanted the Ops to pay attention, they needed the backing of a club. The Furies were here, so she made an executive decision. Before she committed fully, Doc turned to stare at Marbles. The blonde woman stared back for a full minute while she thought about the consequences, and then Marbles nodded, “Go for it.”

Doc turned back to Fling and said, “I would like the Satan’s Sisters to fall under the Furies.”

Fling looked over his shoulder, and all the men nodded, Doc took a deep breath before Fling said, “You got it, now, take a step back.”

Doc sighed and looked back at Creed and Fork who were listening intently, as were the rest of the Ops and Lady Riders who were standing there. You could cut the tension with a knife, she thought, and she took a step back. But before Fling could step forward, Jack-Jack and Slick walked through the door and Marbles let loose the two knives she was holding in her hands.

Fling rolled his eyes and pulled Marbles back behind him when the Ops and the Lady Riders all shouted in anger. “Goddammit!” Creed bellowed.

Fling glared at Marbles who shrugged, “Sorry, slipped.”

Fling looked at the ceiling and took a deep breath while both Jack-Jack and Slick each pulled the knife that struck right between their legs, going through the material of the pant leg like a sewing needle and into the doorjam in back of them. When they looked up, both men looked like they would love to wrap their hands around Marbles’s throat.

“Are you fucking crazy? Thank fuck I tucked on the other side!” Slick yelled, and Creed held up a hand and looked over his shoulder. Neither of the Ops had a clue what they walked into. With the Furies in the mix now the Ops had to tread lightly, especially right now.

“Like a fox, asshole,” Marbles said and pointed two fingers to her eyes and made a motion indicating she was watching them. Doc pressed her lips together; seriously she loved her girls, they took care of being crazy to make her look totally normal, which was the way they all liked it.

Shadow stepped back as well, but he growled at Slick and Jack-Jack who were staring at Marbles intently. Doc smiled and waited, yeah, this was gonna work out fine. When they needed muscle, they would be able to provide it. Plus, they weren’t totally ugly, which was a bonus. But then she looked over to the other side, she spied the tall drink of water from earlier, the one who the pregnant chick said was her father. Well they were neighbors, that counted, right? She would let him dip his wick anytime, but then she saw the younger preggers woman who was glaring at her. She didn’t believe it, the man she was scoping out, actually was her father. Honestly, she thought the chick was just using a nickname, ‘cause there was no way he was that old, hell, he had only a small amount of gray in his hair, competition was good though. She winked at him again, and he raised an eyebrow at her.

Fling said, “Alright, let’s get down to it.” Doc leaned forward and whispered into his ear. When she was done Fling was standing tautly, and he said, “The woman who was dumped is Gypsy’s sister, and you are refusing to let these guys see her. Are you fucking kidding me?”

Creed held up his hand. “Listen, Dani was our operative when we were enlisted, she means something to us, especially since Angela was trying to send us a message. Plus, Jack-Jack and Slick—”

“Never claimed her, ever, in fact, they broke her heart,” Doc snapped and stepped forward. “Don’t be reinventing fucking history; we know what the fuck happened. It is your fault she was kidnapped and the shit kicked out of her, don’t think you have done enough? We’ve come for her, and you will turn her over, or there will be some serious fucking issues.”

Creed glared at her but then sighed and looked at Fling. “They can see her, but she is not leaving here. Boo is taking care of her, as is a doctor we know. She is stable. Until this is over, though, we need to make sure she stays here.”

“Well then, get ready to have some guests,” Doc snapped, and Fling put a hand on her arm. And this was the part that sucked by being involved with a club; she had to answer to them.

“Let these guys see her and make sure everything is good, and they will stay on our side of the compound. But if needed, when we are helping you, they will guard Dani,” Fling said slowly, and Creed nodded.

“Deal.”

Doc felt like she had just made a deal with the devil. No matter how they sugarcoat it, something was going down, and it looked like the Sisters had just become involved as well. Fuck, she needed to make some calls.
