Chapter Ten

Fish waited while everyone in the room attempted to decide if they were going to leave him and Doc alone. There wasn’t really a choice, but he would let them think there was. Too many thoughts were flying through his head, and one of them was the night they were together. Had he used protection? Fuck, he couldn’t remember, too much fucking shit was going on, plus they had been drinking. He knew in the past it wouldn’t have mattered, Fish always used a glove with a woman, but then, most of the women he fucked, well, let’s just say there was no fucking way he wouldn’t cover his dick. He didn’t want it falling off with some weird disease.

But after the week on the road, and finally coming to a decision he didn’t give a shit about his age or hers, he wanted Doc, and that was all that mattered. However, everything went south right when Shadow announced that Doc was pregnant. He was shocked, but then he felt a surge of pride, fuck yeah, his swimmers were still fucking awesome. Shit, a kid, no, a baby, he was having a baby, again, at his age. What the FUCK? he thought, his eyes going to his grown daughter who was heavily pregnant. A grandfather and father in one year? This was too much to take in, he thought as he looked up at Doc who was staring at him closely.

He met her eyes, and he wondered for a moment if what he was seeing was real. She looked at him almost like she wanted to run to him and comfort him. But he had to be wrong; Doc wasn’t the kind of woman to do that. Now, if she looked like she was going to kick him in the nuts, sure he would believe that. Fish shut out the rest of the room because he felt their movement.

He turned and watched the Furies pull Shadow back to the door, the younger man struggled, still raging and yelling something that Fish ignored since it had to do with something about his mother fucking a goat or something like that. The Ops and the Lady Riders both moved. Fish saw his daughter being dragged by Shady and Freedom on either side of her. Shit, that was gonna be difficult. He and Harmony had always been the only family they needed, and with the Ops as their adoptive family, everything had always been okay with them. But he was looking at his daughter’s face, and she was pissed the fuck off. However, there was something else there, something he knew as her father was going to need to be dealt with. Hurt, she was frightened of Fish being with someone else, let alone having another kid.

They finally made it out of the room and the only ones left were Fish, Doc, and her club, which still formed a barrier between them. He sighed and shook his head, raising his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose briefly. “We need a few minutes,” he said quietly.

“That may be,” Maverick said stepping forward. “But you better understand one thing, if you upset her in any way, we will kill you. And no, I am not dramatic, we will literally kill you. Cut your dick off, shove it in your ass, and then each of us will stab you in the heart.”

Fish grimaced, well, okay then, he thought, that was a little graphic. “Just please leave,” he finally said, and Doc whispered something he couldn’t hear, which seemed to help.

He didn’t move, he waited, and Doc shifted on her feet but held his gaze until the door latch sounded, letting them know they were alone. Doc moved forward a few times, then stopped and folded her arms over her chest and planted her feet apart slightly. She looked like she was going to kick his ass.

“Wanna tell me what that was all about?” Fish asked slowly.

Doc sighed and said, “That was my friend, wanting to kick your ass because he just found out I was pregnant like two seconds before you walked in the door.”

He nodded. “Well, is there some reason he was told before say ME?” he finished the calm sentence on a yell. Now, he was pissed.

Doc frowned. “Uh yeah, because he is someone I have known for-fucking-ever, and you and I just met and fucked one time. Sorry, I don’t give a shit if you had your dick in me or not, you do not own me. And you certainly do not have a say in who I talk to or what I say. I was going to tell you, but to be perfectly honest, I wasn’t going to tell you today. I didn’t even know you were coming. If I had, I would have taken Shadow out of the room; I know how protective he is of the Sisters and yeah, that makes him dangerous to everyone but us. This is not the way I wanted to tell you, I had planned on having a nice adult conversation and shit. Anyway, here we are, so, I am pregnant. It is my fault, I wasn’t thinking really that night, uh, I don’t really need to take birth control since I don’t hook up much, and if I do, I always make sure to use protection. It happened, and so there you go. I don’t really care about what you want in this, it is my body, and I am keeping my kid. If you decide you want something to do with him or her when they are born, cool, if not that is cool too. But just so you know, I am not leaving the Furies, so we will be next door neighbors. I would appreciate if you chose to not have anything to do with my kid, to make sure you are scarce when they are around. I don’t want someone blurting out shit. If you do, we will work something out.”

Fish grinned and then started clapping. “Wow, you were prepared, you know it would have been nice to prepare me as well, but hey, I am flexible. Now, just so you know, there is no fucking way I would ever turn my back on my kid. Ever. So, get that the fuck out of your head right now. Also, you better get used to the fact that I am claiming you, which means you will be an Ops, not a Furies. Right now, I am in the clubhouse, but I will be buying a house soon enough so until then, you will stay with me. I will be involved from the get-go, everything to do with our kid will be discussed to make sure we are on the same page. If you suddenly feel like you don’t want the kid, well tough shit, you are giving birth to it, and then I will take it, but you are not doing anything else.”

Doc frowned as she looked at Fish, she seriously thought he was going to run the other way, why the fuck wouldn’t he? Her frown deepened as she thought about what he said, being an Ops, living on their compound, staying together. So not happening, she thought and then she just laughed out loud.

“It is kinda cool you can have a sense of humor about this. I mean, I expected you to be angry and pissy, but to crack jokes, that is awesome,” she said, and Fish frowned this time.

“Yeah, not joking around. No kid of mine will be born without me and their momma being together,” he said.

Doc tilted her head and looked up in the air for a second, and then counted to five before looking down. “And how many kids do you have? I think I have the right to know, considering they would be related to my kid.”

Fish’s eyes narrowed, “I told you, Harmony is my only kid.”

Well, apparently not anymore,” Doc snapped, and Fish glared at her.

“Listen, this will go much easier if you—”

“Shut my mouth like a good little woman? Well, sorry to tell you, asshole, I am not a club whore with no family. I have plenty of people who will help me, so you can go about your life and forget my kid and me, we will be fine,” Doc yelled back.

“The fuck you say,” Fish growled and then stalked to where she was standing and grabbed her upper arms. “You are mine whether you want to be or not; I don’t give a shit. Your fate was sealed when I gave you my kid. No one takes what is mine unless they want to have the fight of their life. So, as I said, if you are in, then you are with me, if you are out, then you are with me until my kid is born and then you can leave.”

Doc thought her head was going to explode, literally blow up from the pressure she suddenly felt. Fuck that shit, she thought and slapped one of his hands down and then pulled her arm back and punched him in the nose.

“Motherfucker,” he roared, and she ignored him.

“I know you did not just say that shit to me!” she ground out, and he looked at her and glared, his nose bloodied and if she were a guy, she would be on the floor unconscious. But there was no way he would hit a female. She knew that because she believed he was a good man. This was just a seriously sucky situation that they needed to work through in order to come to a decision on how to handle this.

“Don’t you get it?” he yelled. “I am not fucking going anywhere!”

Doc glared at him, and then they heard something, both turned and looked at the door. “Is that?” Doc said slowly.

“Fuck, stay your ass right here,” Fish snapped and ran for the door, pulling out his gun from the back of his pants waist.

It was coming from the front, and there was no fucking way she was standing there while her club and the others were being fired upon, no fucking way. She moved behind Fish, and when they reached the door, they could hear it clearer. She pulled her gun as well and tapped him on the shoulder.

Doc swore under her breath; she needed to get to her medic bag. She went to push by Fish who refused to budge and wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her back to him and snapped. No one stood between her and her family.

“I told you to stay there.”

Doc fought him and said, “I need to get my bag.”

Fish growled and pushed her behind him and cracked the door. She could see over his shoulder. It was mayhem. She saw both Furies and Ops running and firing. Fuck, then she saw the Sisters and Lady Riders as well, all behind the stack of crates that shielded them, and they were all armed and returned fire, all of them.

“Where is it coming from?” Doc yelled to be heard over the gunfire.

Fish turned and then said, “From the ocean side, looks like there are multiple boats out there, I can barely make them out, but they have some heavy firepower.” Doc nodded, and Fish turned to her and said, “You need to stay here; I am going to get the other women back in here, it is safe, the walls are concrete.”

He must have seen approval in her eyes because he nodded and then pushed the door further open and ran. She caught the door and watched as he made it to the crates. She knew the Furies and the Ops had fortified both clubhouses in concrete after some incident a while back. The houses closest to the ocean were also fortified, with bunkers in the basement if needed.

She held her breath as Maverick and Jugs helped Fish block the pregnant women, and they all ran toward the door. Doc screamed when she heard rapid gunfire, “Hurry!”

She threw open the door wide and stepped back so they could all get in the room. Fish was the last one in, and he swung the door shut and locked it. Then he moved to the other door and locked it as well.

“Is there another entrance?” he snapped looking around the large room; it was the common room of the compound, so yeah, there were like five entrances. To the rooms the single guys used, or the married ones when they were in the dog house. There was also a kitchen where they took deliveries, as well as Fling’s office, which had a separate entrance. The Sisters had gotten the grand tour just days ago; they were familiar with the layout.

“Yes,” Doc yelled and looked at her club. “Mace and Jugs, the kitchen; Marbles and Tae-Tae, the office; Puddin’ and Dork, make sure the rooms are cleared; Gypsy and Spat, go to the armory. Mav, you are with me. Everyone else, let’s get the tables pushed to the side against the doors.”

Everyone moved but the Lady Riders who stared at them with a mixture of wariness and anger. Doc met Shady’s eyes in almost a challenging way, waiting for the other President to say something. Doc was surprised that without breaking eye contact, Shady said, “Boo, get a med center set up, the rest of you, check the windows, see if we have a clear shot to the ocean, if we do, that is where we will setup. Harmony and Freedom, you guys stay with me, call Nike and make sure our compound is secure. I already saw Knight and Z coming from our side. Find out if they can attack from the side.”

Doc nodded and then turned and moved to the direction of the offices. Fling had already designated a room for the Sisters. She wasn’t sure yet what they had in there, though, she had planned on checking it out after tonight’s fucking meeting. She really hoped that the office supplies arrived. ‘Cause several of her guns were stored in her office safe.

Everyone moved quickly as they heard the gunfire outside the building. Thank God her safe was there, and she also had a window, which she looked out of on her tiptoes. It faced the ocean, and she could see both the Ops and Furies firing toward the ocean. The marina lit up the boats, and Doc grimaced, there were men in the rocks climbing up firing at the clubs. Who were these fuckers? She turned and yelled down the hallway.

“I have a clear shot in my office.” She heard Fish snapping orders, and she grabbed her guns and pulled the table under the window. She began climbing on the desk when Fish grabbed her around the waist and lifted her back on the floor.

“Wounded,” he snapped and crawled up on the desk after he pushed her toward the door. “Go!”

Doc ran into the hallway and saw Mav moving toward her with her hands filled with guns and ammo. “I have his back,” her Vice said, and she nodded and jogged down the rest of the hallway. When she entered the room, she had just what seemed like just minutes ago left, she cussed under her breath. Holy shit. It was like a war zone. There were a few men, but there were guns laying on tables, and the men who were there were all bleeding. She saw Freedom with Easy; she nodded to Freedom when she looked up, “You good?”

Freedom nodded. “Just creased his neck.” Doc nodded and continued to where she spotted Fling.

“Where are you hit?” she asked.

Fling moved his arm, and she saw the blood staining his shoulder down his arm. She pulled gauze to clean it up. “Where is Sunshine?”

“Fucking hell,” he grimaced as she pressed the padding to his shoulder. “She is with her sister.”

Doc nodded, and they heard a commotion on the other side of the room, and both women looked at Shady who was knocking out windows and yelling while firing as well. “Damn that girl.”

Fling sat up and yelled, “Shady, who are you talking about?”

Shady turned around and snapped, “My hard-headed daughter. Hammer was pinned down, and she went out to help him. Now they are moving with the others to the rocks.”

Fling nodded and stood, he grabbed his gun and ran out the door. She moved to the window and grabbed a gun as she went. Shit, it was a fucking mess. She could see the guys, they had all positioned themselves to protect the clubhouse as well as the armory. There were a shit-ton of men in the rocks on the barrier to the ocean; they weren’t even trying to hide. If one got shot, another one took his place. But the men were advancing, they could see them moving slowly, but they were surrounding them.

“Who are these fuckers?” Doc muttered, and Shady looked at her.

“Well, either my mother hired some men, or it is someone here for the Furies, there are only a few choices. But since Shadow was contacted by Burns, I would guess this shit is fallout from that; they are trying to plug a hole.”

Doc grimaced and then stared out the window. She saw a man running to where Jas was at, and she frowned. “What the fuck? How did he get out there?”

Mav came up behind her and said, “The idiot jumped out the window when he saw Jas in the mix. Didn’t even give me a warning, just out the window he went.”

Doc swore under her breath, and Shady growled. “Damn that girl; I don’t give a shit how old she is. I am going to beat the shit out of her.”

They watched as Fish grabbed Jas around her waist and pulled her back while he fired at the men who caught sight of him. Doc swore under her breath and moved toward the door; he needed to get his ass back in here. She wasn’t going to be a whiny bitch and follow his every move, dammit. She was the President of the Satan’s Sisters, the retired leader of a covert unit. She didn’t get scared or worried, she made sure shit got done that needed to get done, dammit. Why the fuck was she standing here? Doc felt like her skin was crawling and then she focused on Fish, watched what he was doing. She realized he knew how to keep himself safe. She needed to trust him, which was impossible.

Doc hated just watching; she wanted to be out there helping. Shady was whispering to Harmony and the Lady Riders what she was seeing. Doc felt the other Sisters coming to her side, all of them worried about what was going on.

“They are pushing the assholes back, they had a lot of men, but they weren’t trained like ours. I can see Creed and Fork motioning to the others. Fling and the Furies are flanking the north, the Ops to the south,” Shady muttered.

“Where are Fish and Jas?” Freedom asked.

“They are on the south side with the Ops. Hammer is with the Furies now. They are getting ready to rush the assholes. The boats are going to be the issues. The middle is clear of our men. If we had a clean shot through there, we could maybe help,” Shady whispered.

Doc looked over her shoulder and looked at Gypsy who was smiling. “Yeah, I got it.”

Shady frowned and looked over her shoulder. “Where is she going?”

Doc rolled her eyes, “Wait for it; Gypsy was our weapons expert, she will handle the boats.”

Shady frowned and shrugged, then turned back toward the window. “How is she doing with Dani still not waking up? The doc was by this morning; he said it was normal for her to be out this long with the injuries she had.”

Doc nodded. “Yeah, but much more, we are going to need to figure something out. They cut the meds back far enough for her to wake up, she should have by now.”

Shady grimaced and nodded. “It’s a matter of getting Jack-Jack and Slick on board.”

Doc shook her head. “They aren’t going to have a choice.”

Shady sighed and looked back out the window, then she said, “They’re almost in place.”

Doc turned and saw Jugs and Mav nodding, and Doc nodded back. Here she goes, Doc thought and then watched out the window for only a moment before she saw the surface missile launch. Shady pulled back and whispered, “What in the fuck?” They all watched as the missile hit one of the boats and it exploded. Fuck, the noise would draw attention. Their compounds were deep into the warehouse district, the gunfire was enough for someone to call, but it could be overlooked since there were no houses close. But a boat exploding, it would be noticed, but it took care of the problem of the assholes escaping.

“Told you, she is a weapons expert. She never goes anywhere without her babies,” Doc said calmly, and they watched as the Furies and the Ops both moved to close them in. The assholes didn’t stand a chance.

Well, that was entertaining,” Freedom said dryly.

“Why don’t we have a missile?” Rain asked.

Doc shrugged, “Gypsy has her license for weapons. Of course, they don’t know all her babies, she likes to make sure they’re hidden from prying eyes.”

“Babies?” Harmony said.

Doc chuckled, “That is what she calls them. For each different weapon, she names them. The surface missile is called Betsy.”

“Betsy?” Freedom asked.

“Yep, and don’t ask why, I don’t know how her mind works, and I really don’t think you want to know. It’s a scary place inside her mind.”

Harmony snorted. “Please, it’s scary in all our minds.”

Doc looked at the Lady Riders—maybe they weren’t as bad as she thought. Shady turned and lifted her head to Doc. Well, guess we made a connection. She looked back out the window and spotted Fish again. Damn that man; he had left Jas and was moving to the side.

“Cops, here we go,” Harmony said with a grin as they heard the sirens. “The assholes will run now.”

“Shit, this had to draw attention,” Mav muttered, and Shady snorted.

“Hell, this is mellow compared. Hopefully, they catch one of them. Creed and Fork know the cops who patrol the area,” Shady muttered, and Doc looked at her closely.

“But still,” she said.

Shady whispered, “Don’t ask questions, Fling; Creed, and Fork, they take care of that. We take care of the shit we do. So, like for the Lady Riders, we have our Broken Wings Network. The Ops keep their noses out of our business, unless we ask for help, and even then, they take direction from us, they do not lead any operation.”
