Chapter Eleven

He was bone fucking tired, Fish thought as he grabbed one of the assholes who had tried to attack the Furies compound. Fork snapped, “Take them to the shed.”

“We have that much room?” Fish asked.

Fling said, “No, take the others to our room. We can spilt the fun.”

Creed grinned and nodded. “I can loan you Maxi if needed.”

They all turned and looked at Maxi who was cleaning his knife off. The man hadn’t used a gun. Honestly, the Furies had been surprised because Maxi had come up behind the assholes. Surprised the shit out of them when he began picking off the pricks one by one. Fish knew his background, knew the darkness in the man, but he respected him. Especially now that he claimed Sofia. The man had finally found his peace with the past.

He turned and caught a glimpse of Doc as she wrapped Easy’s arm, then she was gone. Freedom was standing close and giving the Easy a lecture about taking care of himself. But Fish could see the look on Easy’s face; he wasn’t listening, his mind was on the assholes who caused the problem. The Ops and the Furies looked ready to torture information out of the remaining assholes they caught.

Fork walked around the Furies clubhouse and said, “Cops taken care of; Creed, you need to donate like soon.”

Creed nodded, and then he said, “Let’s go; we need to get this info.”

Fish nodded and grabbed one of the guys and started to pull him toward the Furies spot. He would normally go to the Ops, but he needed to be able to see Doc. The brief glimpses he had seen weren’t enough to make sure she was okay.

Fling, Loki, and Ridge grabbed three others, and they walked toward the building, Fish let them lead. When they entered the large meeting room, his eyes landed on Doc. She now was standing over to the side taking care of Kink, he had gotten winged, and Boo was pissed off.

Doc turned and stared at him. He saw her checking him up and down for wounds, but he hadn’t been hit at all. Fish saw the relief in her eyes, well, she wasn’t averse to him at least. They walked down the hallway where the offices were, and when they reached the end of the hall there appeared to be a vault door. Fling punched in the code and then hit open. Nice, Fish thought, almost better than the shed.

There were five rooms that Fish could see, Fling pushed a man inside each one of them and slammed the door. Then he turned and looked at Ridge and said, “Get Ox.”

Ridge nodded and left. Fling looked at Fish and said, “Thanks, why don’t you go and see if they have anything that needs to be taken care of?” Fish nodded and then moved to the door. “And hey,” Fling said. Fish turned around, “If you are going to be with Doc, you are going to need to figure out which club you will be with. Couples from different clubs make it hard on everyone.”

Fish paused and nodded. Fuck, he had been on Ops Warrior for almost two decades, how the fuck was he supposed to respond? Especially since the women usually join the man’s MC, mostly because they don’t belong to an MC. However, Doc is the President of an MC who was sponsored by the Furies. Shit, Harmony was going to freak the fuck out.

Doc moved to the sink and washed the blood from her hands. For the last two hours she helped patch up members of both the Ops and the Furies, and she was exhausted. Ridge had come into the main room and informed everyone that the compound was clear and both clubs were on lockdown until further notice. He had then come and told Doc personally that a briefing for all the Presidents would be in the morning. Fuck, she seriously hoped they had left her at least one asshole to deal with, she was ready to take out her frustrations on someone. Especially since her fucking libido was in overdrive for some reason, and either she felt like crying, fucking or ripping someone’s head off. At this point, it was a toss-up.

Doc felt rather than saw Fish walk into the room with her. When she glanced over her shoulder, she saw he was leaning in the doorway staring at her, and dammit, he looked sexy as fuck. What the hell was wrong with her? Suddenly she gets pregnant and then turns into a whore, it was supposed to be the other way around. He grinned at her like he could tell what she was talking about.

She shook her head and then wiped her now clean hands on a towel she had on her shoulder. When she turned, she leaned against the counter and appeared to look calm, though she was feeling anything but. Since seeing him earlier, she was thrown off guard. Her emotions were all over the place, especially since he had wanted to help with their child, which she was happy about. Some men wouldn’t give a shit, especially when they were older. While she was working on the other guys, she had plenty of time to think.

Honestly, she wasn’t going to be able to do this alone, and no matter how much she loved her Sisters, and she knew they would do whatever she asked, Doc couldn’t ask them for this though. They had their own lives, and yes, the Sisters would always be together, but Doc knew she couldn’t ask them for this. Every single one of her Sisters would give up their lives for one of their own. Including herself. But it was one thing to know it, and one to be real.

Fish looking entirely too relaxed leaning against the doorway, which pissed her off. He didn’t seem worried about anything, while her thoughts kept running rampant about the future, her club, the baby, shit everything.

“You about ready?” Fish said slowly with his deep sexy voice.

Her eyes narrowed at him, and she replied, “For what?”

Fish grinned and shook his head. “Well, we have things to talk about, but I figured with everything that has happened, you needed a little down time. So, I thought maybe we should go for a ride, you know to clear our heads.”

Doc sighed, of course, he would think of something like that so she wouldn’t be able to call him a selfish bastard. Damn him for being so ugh, nice. It was a good idea, and one she was beginning to warm up to, although she knew it would be impossible, but something she knew would clear her head. Her plan had been to go back to her house and lock herself in her room for a while, but a ride sounded so much better.

“We are on lockdown still, so until I talk to Fling and Ridge it’s not happening,” Doc asked smoothly.

Fish grinned and shook his head. “Yeah, I know, and I also already cleared it with Creed and Fling.”

Doc frowned and said, “Lockdown is lockdown.”

Fish nodded and said, “It is, but this is needed, and once we leave here, we will be going to stay in a safe house the Ops own until we work this out.”

“Umm, no,” Doc said, shaking her head. “I am not leaving my club.”

Fish sighed and said, “You are not leaving your club; you are just taking a little time to deal with a situation that is private. I understand your need to be here but, Miranda, we need some time, and we are going to take it.”

Doc looked at him closely and then sighed. She wasn’t getting out of this. She knew it, so she had better just get used to the idea. Fish seemed to be saying all the right things. Now she was going to see if he truly meant it, or was feeding her a line of bullshit.

“Fine, a ride,” Doc said, and Fish grinned and nodded.

“Go tell your girls; I will make sure everything is covered for now.”

Doc sighed, yeah like that was going to be easy. After this whole fucking shootout, she was going to be lucky if they didn’t wrap her in bubble wrap to protect her. She had seen the way they watched her while shit was going down. She wasn’t stupid, one or more of the Sisters had been within arm’s length of her the whole time. Shaking her head, she moved to the door and went to face the music.
