Chapter Thirteen

Doc opened her eyes and stared at the man who was still sleeping next to her. Last night had been amazing, and she knew they had taken the last step to being together. Fish was going to claim her, and she was going to let him. They would figure things out from there, but honestly, she was still leery about her Sisters, and the Furies. How were they going to react to this? She hated trying to figure out how her club was going to react. When she found out she was pregnant, she really thought they would flip out, but they were calmer than she was. But this? Yeah, they were going to freak out.

Fish opened his eyes and stared right into the eyes of the woman who was quickly becoming his heart. Last night was just as good as the first night, and damn, it solidified what he knew was true. This was the woman for him; it didn’t matter how many days or hours they knew each other, Fish had just known that night, shit, he sounded like a hippy.

“Morning,” she whispered, and Fish wrapped his arms around her and kissed her deeply. She sunk herself into the kiss and sighed when he pulled back.

“Morning,” he said gruffly and then let her go, and she slid out of bed and went to the bathroom. He knew she needed time to herself so he slid out of bed and grinned as he thought about the previous night. She was everything he remembered and more, there was no way anyone would ever touch her again but him, he would kill anyone who tried. Staring at the door, wanting to go inside and take her into the shower and fuck her again, Fish sighed, he needed to give her the space he knew she needed. Start as he meant to go on. She and the baby were his priority, Harmony was as well, but she had her men, and Doc had him. He was going to need to explain that to her. It was going to be hard because they were so close, but he knew his little girl would support him.

When she shut the door, she heard him rustling around and then leave the room. Then she heard the shower start somewhere in the house. She shook her head; Doc would have liked to shower with the man. She was a slut, she thought and moaned, need to get ready to face the music and go back to reality. Doc brushed her teeth, refusing to look in the mirror. Focus, she thought, when they got back to the compound she needed to find out what they learned. She also needed to block out the feel of him between her legs. Last night he had taken her three times, and each time she had come so hard she had seen stars. Yeah, she could get used to that. She stepped into the shower and let the hot water flow over her. By the time she walked out of the shower, Doc was ready to deal with her club and the others. The Sisters were involved with whatever the fuck was going on because Shadow would never let this go. If he thought somehow that Burns was innocent, and just a pawn being used, he would fight to the end to make sure the man was exonerated, that was who he was. The Sisters, well when it came to Shadow they tended to cover his ass while he did what he did.

When she was dressed and walked into the bedroom, she saw Fish had made the bed and was currently sitting on the edge of it and was putting on his boots. He lifted his head and looked at her seriously.

“Creed called,” Fish said, and Doc froze, fuck.

“What’s going on?” she said and watched as Fish thought for a minute.

“One of the guys they interrogated broke, they have information. None of this shit is what it seems like. There are more players involved than what we thought,” Fish said grimly, and Doc frowned.

“More players, how?”

Fish sighed, “I am not sure, all I know is Creed wants our asses back there ASAP, they are having a President meeting in two hours, then a whole club meeting.”

Doc nodded and then walked to her boots and pulled them on. “We better get a move on; we don’t want to get caught in traffic.”

Fish grabbed her arm as she passed him and she frowned and looked at Fish questioningly. “We good?” he asked, and she nodded.

“Yeah.”

Fish stared at her intently and saw the look in her eyes, and he knew they were on the same page. He nodded and then said, “Come on, together.”

She nodded and said, “Together.”

They made it back to the compound without incidence and used the same gate as they left from which was hidden. Fish noticed there was no one in the open. No people walking and laughing, no one hanging out in front of the clubhouse, nothing. They parked in the area between the two clubs, and Doc took off her helmet and stared around. She saw the same thing as he did, it was eerie.

“Where are we meeting?” Doc asked.

Fish took her hand and said, “I believe on the Furies side, let’s go.”

The pair walked between the two compounds and Doc almost shivered at the ominous atmosphere that almost suffocated her. She knew Fish felt it because his hand got tighter and tighter as they moved. She saw the bullet holes for the first time. Fuck, there were so many of them. Last night had been wild, and they were lucky the casualties they had weren’t life threatening for the guys. It could have been so much worse, she thought as they neared the door, where just last night Doc had stood and held it open for the Lady Riders and the Sisters as they ran back in.

When Fish opened the door, he pushed her through first, as if to make sure she made it to safety before he did. She wanted to stop and kiss him, but when she saw the club room was completely packed, she stopped.

“Fuck,” Doc whispered, and Fish sighed. They had everyone’s attention, and everyone was looking at their hands, and the way the pair both seemed to move to protect one another. She spotted Marbles who was just grinning and shaking her head. They heard the first clap and Fish narrowed his eyes on Kink. That bastard was gonna get him in trouble.

Soon the whole room was clapping and hooting loudly. Doc rolled her eyes, and Fish just shook his head. Then Shadow stepped forward with his eyes locked on Doc; the room went silent as the large man walked to her.

He stopped right in front of Doc but his eyes shifted to Fish and finally, he said, “About last night…” he started.

Fish interrupted him and said, “I would have done the same thing, hell, I have practically done the same thing. When Harmony told me she was pregnant, my first instinct was to find those bastards and kick their ass. You care about Doc; she is part of your family, I would expect nothing less.”

Shadow nodded and added, “I will kill you if you hurt her.”

Doc raised an eyebrow and Fish chuckled. “Trust me; I think she will take care of that herself.”

Doc sighed and then stepped closer to her brother and smiled. “Thank you.”

Shadow looked down at her and said quietly, “Was there ever any question about how I would react? You are my sister, my family. You know if you need anything, all you need to do is ask.”

Doc nodded, and then he moved to the side, behind him stood the rest of her family, and they were all staring at Fish. She turned and saw Fish was staring right back, not in the least bit intimidated. Mav stood in the front, and she looked at Doc, she knew her Vice was checking to make sure nothing was off. She would know by Doc’s body language that things were good. It took a few moments, but then her Vice nodded, and Doc let go the breath she was holding, they accepted it. She really shouldn’t have been so worried, she knew they would support any decision.

Fling stepped into the room from the back where the offices were. He motioned with his head for Doc to come back. She nodded and then she took a few steps and paused to look behind her. Fish remained where he was, just watching her closely as she moved. She said, “Are you coming?”

Fish frowned and said, “Why?”

Her eyes moved around to her club, Mav shrugged, and Doc looked back and said quietly, although she knew the rest of the room was listening. She had seen many Presidents of MCs not involve their women in making decisions. Although they were a women’s club, Doc didn’t think that way. Even claimed, he was part of the club. “Club business, you are now club, the co-president. Meetings include you.”

He stared at her, and then nodded and walked to her side. “Let’s go.”

“Together,” she said, and he nodded.

“Together.”

When they entered Fling’s office, all the Presidents and their men and women were in the room already sitting at a table, with beers in the middle, and also a gallon of milk. Shady and her men were on one side, Creed, Fork and Harmony on another, Sunshine sat at the head of the table, with a chair next to her that had to be Fling’s, which left Doc and Fish to take the chairs opposite of them. The room was crowded and tense.

Harmony and Shady stared at her. Fish took her hand and then pulled her to the table and pulled out a chair. Doc sat down and refused to break eye contact with Harmony, who she was focused on. She wasn’t showing any weakness; the woman would latch onto it if she did. She heard Fling close the door and then move to the front of the table and sit down. “You can have your stare down after we talk, ladies, this is more important,” Fling said, and Harmony rolled her eyes, which broke eye contact. Doc wanted to laugh, the little woman was trying to be bold. It was admirable.

“Lay it on us,” Shady said with a drawl.

Fling nodded. “I don’t know how all this shit became intertwined, but I think it’s because someone has been watching everything we do. They have somehow found out shit about us that no one should know. Including our service records.”

The room was quiet as they all thought about those consequences. Doc leaned forward and said, “They have them all?”

Fling sighed and then nodded. “Yeah, Shadow said they had them all, he has been working with Boony to hack into the hacker’s system. The problem is, it keeps bouncing, and they are one step behind when they move. But so far, they have caught him long enough to mirror some documents. The Satan’s Sisters are in there.”

Doc swore under her breath. She didn’t want anyone to ever know some of the shit they did, not because she was embarrassed or anything, fuck that, they defended their country. But some of the missions had casualties, plus some of them, they rescued people whom they reported dead in order to save their lives. The brass knew that sometimes they worked out of the box, and they accepted it. But if anyone found out, fuck, some people would be in danger.

She leaned back, and Fish put an arm around her and leaned in. “Together.”

She sighed and nodded as they continued to talk around the table, everyone expressing their opinion of the situation.

“What I don’t get is why the Ops and Lady Riders are even involved. I mean, I get that the Sisters would be because we supported the charter for them. But the Ops and the Lady Riders have not been directly involved with any mission,” Sunshine said, and Creed frowned and shrugged.

“Not sure if it’s because of the military aspect or what, but they clearly know a lot of shit about us, which makes us a part of this. We would have been involved anyway since we live right next to each other. We decided when you all moved here that we would be two separate clubs, but united against our enemies together,” Fork said. “So far, the Furies have had our back every time. So, we have yours this time.”

Fling sighed and leaned back. “And this is why we are all together for this meeting.” The room instantly went silent as Fling looked at Sunshine who nodded. He reached back and pulled a stack of papers from his desk and then put them on the table in front of him. “Shadow actually got something more from the hacker who claims to be Burns.”

Shady was rubbing her stomach, and she snapped, “Tell us already, I need nachos.”

Harmony groaned and looked at Creed and Fork, “Oh my God, that sounds amazing, that and a Slurpee.”

The men all made a noise of surprise when Fork said under his breath, “Fuck, she had that for breakfast, buying the Slurpee machine, the hot dog roaster, and the chili cheese nacho machine was brilliant.”

Doc’s eyes got wide, fuck, she hoped she didn’t crave that stuff, although the thought of a corn dog smothered in chili and then a two liter of Mt. Dew sounded amazing right about now.

Fling cleared his throat, and they all looked back. Shady grumbled, “Sorry, I know this is important, but this kid is demanding. If I don’t get what she wants, later tonight there will be hell to pay.”

“He,” Slider growled as he leaned forward. “What he wants.”

Shady grinned and shook her head. “Delusional.”

“Right?” Harmony snorted and looked at Fork and Creed.

“Ours is a he too,” Fork snapped, and Harmony shook her head.

Sunshine giggled and said, “No worries, it lightened the moment, besides, when I was pregnant, all I wanted was the Arby’s Meat Mountain.”

Harmony leaned forward. “Never heard of that.”

“Yeah, it is one of those secret menu things, you know how fast foods all have them. Anyway, it has every meat on the menu in one sandwich with swiss cheese and their BBQ and Horsey sauce. It was life changing,” Sunshine said, staring dreamily into space.

Fling shook his head. “Freaked me out when she would devour the whole thing.”

Sunshine slapped him in the back of the head and said, “It was necessary.”

“Moving on,” Fling said, rubbing his head. “So, this apparently is a record of the jobs this person has done, all the clients, the jobs, and the payments. There is a hit list in here he has not completed, either jobs he couldn’t accomplish or ones he hasn’t done yet. I gotta say, I was surprised about the way the list was written, some of the jobs, even though they were done seemed to add people. It was like with every kill, the one who hired this fucker for the job, kept adding more people. When one job was done, they were given a new name or two and so on. Each centered around the Ops and the Lady Riders.”

“WHAT?” Creed roared and grabbed the stack of paper. He flipped through them until he reached almost three pages. He started at the beginning and began to read out loud. “Candy (marked killed), Monk (marked killed), Reyes (he is crossed out), Raph (with a star), The General (star), Dani (with a ?), Fish (star), Freedom (star), Harmony (star), Shady (two stars), Jas (an @). There are a shit ton more, all with the location of where the people are at and their current schedules, fuck, he even has your 7-11 runs listed.”

The room was silent, and Doc leaned forward. “How the fuck could this all be connected, it doesn’t make sense.”

Shady held out her hand for the papers, and Creed handed them over. The woman looked at every page, and grabbed a pen off Fling’s desk and began to draw lines through the papers and making notes. They all sat and watched, and no one interrupted even though Doc had wanted to on many occasions, Fish pressed her hand on her thigh several times to stop her, but she was getting impatient. Fuck, they were the new ones to the club, and they had no idea what the fuck they were getting into.

Honestly, the Sisters had enough fucking enemies, they didn’t need any more. They had been watching their sixes ever since they got out. They may have been a secret unit, but the jobs they did were not all secret. Some of them were public, and a lot of people hated the Sisters, even if they didn’t know it was them they were supposed to hate.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, Shady looked up. Doc saw the look in the other woman’s eyes, and she focused on Harmony, and they almost seemed to be communicating. Both women, who moments before had a loving look in their eyes when they were talking about their babies, now looked like deadly killers, which was a little unnerving really.

Shady looked at Fling and then slid the papers back and said with a dead voice, “It is my mother, she has been a client for a long time. So, if I would have to guess, I would say a lot of the people I marked we have a connection to. Which makes it kinda convenient don’t you think, especially since it looks like they have our newest movements when were on lockdown.”

Everyone leaned up and looked at the marks on the papers. Doc frowned and saw SS at the bottom of one of the pages, no one singularly, they were listed as a whole group. She turned her head a little and then whispered, “Some of this was before we moved.”

Fish leaned close and said, “Yeah?”

“No, you don’t get it, before we left our old building, we literally didn’t go outside. How in the fuck did they have some of mine and Mav’s meeting times? There were like four, one a week before we left, we made sure all our stuff was square, but none of the others knew about them. Shadow’s name is bolded and has an exclamation point on it, same with Boony’s, they know who can find them. They are trying to erase the competition.”

“That may be, but we also have some other shit going on here. It’s not just Shady’s mother. When Merlin was in Canada, someone was using government assets to cause the Furies problems, I don’t see how one can be connected with another,” Fling said slowly.

“Then we have more than one problem on our hands, and since the clubs are united, it means we will deal with all of it together,” Creed said, and Fork nodded.

“Bottom line, my mother is part of this,” Shady said, and she looked at Doc straight in the eye. “And we are going to need all the help we can get, she has already proven difficult to deal with.”

Doc nodded. “The Sisters are in.”

“You don’t want to talk to them first?” Harmony asked, and Doc looked at her.

“Nope,” Doc said. “They trust me.”

Shady stared at her and then nodded. “This is going to get messy, you all know my mother apparently has a lot of money at her disposal.”

Fling shrugged. “So do we.”

“So how do we focus on everything? Letting any of this shit be put on the back burner is not an option. Which means we will be spread thin. It’s not something that is wise. None of these people are going to just let it lay, they will come back at us with guns a barreling. We need to be prepared, there is no other option, ‘cause if any of us get caught with our pants down, it’s not going to be good. Now, we need to figure this shit out, who is doing what?” Creed said.

“Break it down,” Fling said and then continued. “You have been dealing with Shay’s mom for a while now, and not trying to be a dick, but it has gotten you guys nowhere. And neither have we. Every turn we hit a brick wall. Ironside is getting pissed about have to be politically correct.”

Creed nodded and then Shady said, “Those are not the only problems, it’s the people they are hiring as well. They are using distractions to get what they want. While last night was intense and fucked up, if they really wanted us dead they would have sent someone a little better. They have already tried the route from the ocean side, it didn’t work the last time, and seriously, if you think these assholes didn’t know that, then you are on crack. Then,” she continued and motioned with her head to Fling, “the Furies also have their little side job going on.”

Fling said quickly, “We have delayed any missions.”

“So, innocents can be killed while we sort our shit?” Shady fired back and frowned. “And what if one of the people you are supposed to be protecting is the one who could blow this shit wide open? They are focusing on these people for a reason, now it may not have shit to do with our situation, but honest to God, I am a cold bitch, but not when it comes to people who are casualties in my war.”

Fling sat back, “Fuck.”

Shady nodded. “Yeah, fuck.”

Doc leaned forward, “I know we are new to this whole thing you all have going on here, but honestly, I am sick of getting fucking shot at, and shit, these fucking assholes need to be buried. Now, currently, we don’t have as many people wanting to kill us, but that doesn’t mean the Sisters are going to sit back and let you all deal with something that needs all our help. At this fucking table, we have more connections in the military than active units. So how about this, the Sisters deal with the cunt-a-mom because most of us have mommy issues and will kill the bitch if we even get one clear shot. Ops, you deal with the government-whores, ‘cause I know for a fact, you may be on their radar as a tiny blip with your crazy asses, but the Sisters and Furies are lighting up their screen bigger than shit. Fling and Shady, deal with all the mercenary for hire assholes who seem to be after us. I mean shit, everyone and their brother want a piece of us it seems, so we deal and go with it. All of us get the weapons experts together to check our arsenals to make sure we have enough to start World War III. And each of us picks the sneaky bastards in our clubs, and they can be the ones who figure out a place we can take this fight, and not draw too much attention, which could be a third-world country, but hey, ruin theirs not ours.”

Everyone was silent as they stared at Doc and then she looked at Fish, “Too much?”

He grinned and said, “Nah, they just know you are right, and they are pissed they didn’t think of it.”

Doc lifted her head and shrugged, “Oh cool, so are we on the same page here?”

They all nodded, but before they could talk, there was a knock on the door. Fling grabbed the papers and turned them over. “Come in.”

Marbles stuck her head and in said, “Dani is awake.”
