As Luz walked out of the office, Sheryl couldn't help but feel a sense of fulfillment. ‘This is what I love about my job,’ she thought to herself. ‘It’s about connecting with people. It’s about letting my clients know they are more than a case number—that someone cares.’

Yet, amidst her empathy for others, Sheryl couldn't shake the weight of her own struggles. She felt the ache of loneliness, the burden of failed relationships, and the constant pressure to keep up appearances. ‘The weight of the world,’ she murmured to herself, contemplating her own challenges.

As she settled back at her desk, Sheryl's mind raced with thoughts of self-doubt and uncertainty. ‘If only there were somehow, I could feel refreshed,’ she mused, grappling with the complexities of her own emotions.

Luz reminded her of how alone she felt not having family close by. She married her high school sweetheart and they wed after they both graduated from college. They moved to Virginia, Arkansas, and finally settled in Crystal City to continue her happy, perfect life. She had her whole life planned, but this. No one ever thinks of divorce, but it happened. She felt guilty as if maybe she hadn’t tried hard enough. Maybe she didn’t love strong enough. Maybe she wasn’t enough. Enough of what, she had no clue.  Whatever was it needed to be fixed; but how? She kept a busy lifestyle as an excuse to not meet anyone and get hurt. She learned to keep her struggles hidden only letting others see what she wanted them to. She couldn’t handle another emotional roller coaster, another disappointment that could throw her back into a state of depression. ‘If only there were somehow, I could feel refreshed, she continued to think to herself: The weight of the world...The weight of the world...I got to call Louise back to figure this out’.

As she contemplated her next steps, Sheryl resolved to confront her own burdens head-on. "The weight of the world," she repeated, a mantra echoing in her mind as she prepared to face the challenges ahead.
