23. Julie’s Short Crust pastry
Almost every flour dessert makes use of shortcrust pastry, and it is flaky, melt-in-your-mouth, and delicious. This recipe is the beginning of your baking passion.

Ingredients

3 cups APF

200g cold butter

1 tbsp sugar

2 large eggs

¼ cup cold water

1 pinch salt

A dash of pepper
Method
Sift the flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl
Grated the butter into the flour and crumb it in
The result should be a crumb-like texture
Add the eggs and knead gently
If the dough is actually too dry, add a tbsp of water at a time and until a smooth, kneadable dough is formed
Wrap and rest
Roll when ready to use
