Brown Sugar Brined Turkey
Servings: 6 | Prep Time: 12 Hours, 10 Minutes | Cook Time: 20 Minutes
This recipe may take a little planning, but the results are definitely worth it. You will be hard pressed to find a turkey recipe that is a bigger crowd pleaser than this one.
Ingredients:
3 cups packed light brown sugar
1-1/2 cups Dijon mustard
1/2 cup table salt
2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
2 gallons icy cold water
1 bunch fresh thyme
1 head fresh garlic, separated into cloves and crushed
1 (10-12 pounds) whole turkey, thawed
Instructions:
1.      In a large cooking pot, mix together brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper.
2.       Slowly mix in the water, thyme, and garlic.
3.      Prep your turkey by removing anything you need including giblets and timer.
4.       Place the turkey to the pot, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
5.       When ready to cook, remove turkey from pot, drain, and rinse.
6.       Cut turkey into pieces small enough to fit in the basket.
7.      With your Philips air fryer, cook the turkey at 375 degrees for 20 minutes, turning half way through.
8.       Given the size this will probably take several batches.
