Summary
In this story we have a proud blacksmith who challenged all the other blacksmiths to a deadly duel. He was willing to risk his life and reputation by allowing other blacksmiths to strike his armor, which he believed was indestructible.
his arrogance will be punished and the blacksmith will be the cause of his own death when he encounters Sigfried and his legendary sword.
Riassunto
In questa storia abbiamo un fabbro orgoglioso che sfidava tutti gli altri fabbri a un duello mortale. Era disposto a rischiare la vita e la reputazione permettendo ad altri fabbri di colpire la sua armatura, che riteneva indistruttibile.
La sua arroganza sarà punita ed il fabbro sarà causa della sua stessa morte quando incontrerà Sigfried e la sua leggendaria spada

There was once a proud blacksmith who bragged that he made the toughest armor in the entire world. He went from town to town challenging every blacksmith he found. He wore his armor and challenged other blacksmiths to cut him down with their sharpest swords whilst he wore it.
Every blacksmith he challenged lost and was put to shame. One day a wanderer came to town with a bright and shiny sword. Sure enough the proud blacksmith challenged him.
The stranger asked “are you sure?” But the proud blacksmith was overconfident and told the stranger “strike!”
The stranger pulled out the sword and swung.
The proud blacksmith then said “I felt something cold inside of me.” And then he fell to the ground in two halves.
Little did the blacksmith know that the stranger was Siegfried the dragon slayer with his legendary sword Balmung.
