No-Bake Fruitcake Bars
I have always hated fruitcake. My grandmother hated fruitcake. Imagine my surprise when she served this recipe as chilled bars on the Christmas sideboard next to the fudge and divinity. It’s terrific, even if you hate fruitcake.
1 (16-ounce) box graham crackers, crushed into fine crumbs
2 (8-ounce) jars maraschino cherries, including juice
4 cups chopped pecans or walnuts
2 cups raisins
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
In a large bowl combine all the ingredients. Pack the mixture tightly by hand, forming a rectangular loaf. Wrap in wax paper. Chill until firm and cut into bars. Store the loaf in the refrigerator when not being served.
Makes 2 dozen bars
