Whiskey-Butternut Glaze
Use this glaze on the grill with salmon or chicken, or drizzle it on baked sweet potatoes. To make a luscious sauce for bread pudding, stir ½ cup cream into the cooked glaze after it has been removed from the heat.
2 sticks butter
½ cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
½ cup bourbon
¼ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons honey
¼ cup finely chopped pecans
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the sugar, bourbon, salt, honey, and pecans until all granules of sugar are dissolved. Remove from the heat.
Makes 2 cups
