Barbecue Dry Rub

Rub this mixture into meats before smoking or before cooking in a pit barbecue.

1 pound brown sugar

1 cup salt

1½ ounces paprika

1 tablespoon black pepper

1½ teaspoons red pepper

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons garlic powder

2 tablespoons dry mustard

Sift all the ingredients together at least three times to make sure everything blends completely. Store in a closed jar or dry canister.

Makes 2½ cups
