Event chain methodology supplements CPM and CCPM. This is the modeling technique of insecurity and network planning that focuses on identifying event management that can affect project deadlines. This helps to mitigate the negative impact of various events on project activities and allows easy modeling of the insecurity in the network plan.
This is based on the following principles:
- Risk occurrence: The likelihood of the occurrence of a risk at a certain point in the execution of an individual activity
- Event chain: Some events may initiate another event, leading to a chain of events that can significantly affect the course of the project's execution
- A critical event or chain of events: The event or chain of events that have the greatest impact on the project is determined by analysis
- Monitoring project progress through events: Inclusion of analyses occurs in project progress reports
- Visualizing: Visualization of the event chain via a diagram
