November 12, 1938. We spent four days in Paris. Then we took our leave from the relatives and boarded a train to the seaport of Cherbourg. There we had to be taken by ferry out to the Queen Mary, because it was very far out at sea. It was a gigantic ship. We went on the ship and to our cabins. We have two cabins, one for our parents, one for us.
November 13, 1938. Sunday on the ship, seasick.
November 14, 1938. Seasick.
November 15, 1938. Seasick in the morning. In the afternoon on the deck and in the movies.
November 16, 1938. Whole day good and spent at the movies.
November 17, 1938. Arrival in U.S.A. At six o’clock this morning we saw the whole ocean lit up.
