Put him in charge of something important.

It’s got to be really important. All the trivial jobs, like feeding the dog and unloading the dishwasher, have to be done, and everybody should take turns at them. But there are many jobs that adults jealously reserve for themselves, although young men are perfectly capable of doing them. So, get him to organise the family holiday, take charge of part of the weekly budget, choose the next car you buy.
