Step-ups are a way to get the benefits of stair climbing when you don’t have access to any stairs (or a stair climbing machine).
Step-ups are more effective than just walking or running when it comes to your butt and thigh area.
This is because the upward movement means that the power has to come from your upper legs (thighs and butt) rather than your calves.
It also adds a strength-training element because you are not just pushing yourself forward but pulling your body weight up with each step.
If you are doing a workout that exclusively targets your butt and thighs, step-ups should definitely be a part of it, especially if you don’t have a stair-climbing machine or a staircase.
