“This has been a wonderful honeymoon,” Lynn said, her head resting on his shoulder. They were about to head home after two nights at the Vermillion guesthouse. About a quarter mile from the main farm and restaurant, the tiny cottage was a quiet retreat with its crisp white linens, simple pine furnishings, and luxurious bath. Lynn had sighed with pleasure when they stepped into the beautiful space two days ago, a spacious claw-foot tub just visible through the bathroom door.
“Finally, we get to take a bath together!” she’d said, and here they were, two days later, after several baths, soaking one last time before they dressed to go home.
Gus took her hand, kissing each of her fingers. “Too short.”
“Just right.”
“Maybe next year when the baby’s weaned, we can go for a week somewhere?”
“I’d like that,” she said, smiling as she felt his arousal against her back. “I also like what I’m feeling at this very minute.” She turned halfway round and kissed him.
“Want to fool around?” he asked, cupping her breasts.
“Oh, is that what we’re doing? Fooling around?”
“I hope so. Now come closer and let me make love to you, Ms. Casey.”
Lynn turned and straddled him, opening herself to guide him in. She leaned back and arched her spine, reveling in the pleasure of fullness with him deep inside her. They began to move in perfect synchrony, their mounting hunger for one another blocking all reason, obliterating all thought. As they climaxed, water swirling all around them, she screamed in ecstasy as Gus murmured, “I know, baby, I know.”
A few minutes later as he cradled her in his arms, his hand resting on her belly, Lynn said, “Do you think Edna would mind if we take this tub with us?”
“No need, my beautiful wife. I called Kevin yesterday, and he’s gonna start scouting around for one.”
“What?” She sat up.
“Yup, apparently they’re hard to find, but he uses a lot of salvage places, and he’s pretty sure he can locate one.”
“Where are you going to put it?”
“In the bathroom extension. I already cleared it with the bosses. We’re gonna extend the master bedroom to give you a space of your own, a small study or whatever you want. And, while we’re at it, I thought why not add enough space for a closet and tub.”
“But it’s not even yours.”
“Ours, you mean?”
“Yes, I like the sound of that.”
“Well, it will be ours soon. Spark and Ben agreed to sell me the house and ten acres. It’s home for the kids now. My home and yours.”
Lynn wrapped her arms around his neck. “Oh, Gus Casey, I love you!”
He captured her lips in a soft, wet kiss. “This water’s getting kind of chilly, but what if we continue this in that nice warm bed?”
She reached down, stroking him, and said, “Why, Mr. Casey, that’s an even better idea than a claw-foot tub!”
