THERSA MATSUURA, an American expatriate with more than three decades of residence in Japan, uses her fluency in the language to explore its rich tapestry of myths, legends, folktales, and superstitions. Through her popular podcast, Uncanny Japan, she introduces listeners to these fascinating parts of Japanese culture. Thersa has also published two short story collections, including A Robe of Feathers and Other Stories, along with The Carp-Faced Boy and Other Tales, a collection of horror stories inspired by Japanese folktales, which was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award in 2017.
